“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.
He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.
“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”
“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

The reduction of oil is meant to punish Russia and these oil dependent nations to adopting new,.environmentally friendly sources of energy. Now, oil is the backbone of the world economy. The future will be dependent on electricity and battery power. The world wants to.find a true alternative to.oil. And stop reliance on oil as an economic tool. This is why 2015 will be bad year. If he is he must (1) RETURN MERCHANT BANK TO ITS OWNERS, (2) SANCTION AFRIYIE ANKRAH THE CRYING THIEF, (3) STOP PLAYING PRANKS WITH WAYOME, ISOFOTON AND OTHER JUDGEMENT DEPTS THAT WERE FRAUDULENTLY PAID.
John is himself the number one thief, so how can he discipline thieves. He has to steal to look after his 23 or so children. Therefore all hands on deck. All appointees must must take whatever they can grab. This man is simply unfit to be president.
Ghana will definitely be better off without John Mahama. The monies being given to our very stupid chiefs is stolen money. it is monies that should go to repair our roads.

Don't speak ignorantly and expose your unintelligence and your lack of appreciation for honest, principled and functional systems operating in other jurisdictions, which you know absolutely nothing about.
Even commonsense should dictate that per the principles of the automatic price adjustment formula, if oil prices fall on the world market, then the adjustment should kick in and consequently, see a drop in fuel prices on the local market and vice versa.
You, meaning the incompetent NDC gov't does not mess up with the finances and the currency of the country, cause a depreciation of the cedi and thus incur exchange rate losses based on your incompetence and ineptitude, and expect that, the masses should shoulder your irresponsibility for those losses, by throwing the whole principle behind the automatic price adjustment formula out of the window.
That is dishonest, unconscionable, unprincipled and irresponsible leadership and governance.
Crude prices on the world market as we speak ranges anywhere between $55+/-2 even when taken as an average, and not the $67dollars as quoted by the NPA, in reducing fuel prices by a miserly 10%.
This further goes to show the clear dishonesty of the NPA and the Mahama NDC gov't, because even the reduction in the price of fuel is based on false figures.
It's those same false figures, massaged figures and cooked figures that this Mahama NDC gov't took to the IMF for a bailout on the pretetxt of going to find credibility and confidence, and they were exposed; a Mahama NDC gov't with no, credibility, no honesty, no integrity and no principles, and they expect Ghanaians and the world to take them serious and have confidence in such a gov't??? What a joke!!!.
At the very least, the fuel prices should be reduced by about 18-20% to make any useful sense.

The NPA is not functioning and needs to be scrapped. With fuel prices having fallen on the world market by over 50%, and the NPA reducing fuel prices locally by 10%, shows clearly, the NPA does not understand it's function and is not working with clarity deserved and required of it's mandate, taking a very careful look at the numbers, indeed at the figures vis-a-vis what pertains on the world/international market. Taxpayer funds clearly cannot be appropriated in such a crass manner to churn out such bogusness and recklessness from the NPA. The NPA needs to be scrapped. It's a waste of resources.

The NPA clearly is a dysfunctional organization, does not seem to know what it is about and needs to be scrapped, because it is increasingly turning out to be a huge drain on the taxpayer.
What went into that 10% reduction, when the commodity has reduced steeply to it's lowest in almost 5 years by over 50%?
What was the NPA looking at in arriving at that 10%?
What is the correlation between a 50% drop and 10%? Where is the algebraic reasoning behind such percentages? Look, there needs to be seriousness in this country, there should be seriousness in this country. Fuel prices should be reduced by over 30% at the very least.
The NPA has lost it's objectives and needs to be scrapped pronto.

2015 they promise it would be better, not from what they have just done.
They could have reduced it at least 15% and still would have had money to reduce the said debt.

Clearly, the Mahama NDC gov't's philosophy of thievery underpinned by "yenti3 obiaaa" is at work, and completely burying the country in the pits.
This 10% reduction by the Mahama NDC gov't is a mere token, indeed, it is just to throw a bone to the dog, to shut it up.
The Mahama NDC gov't in realistic terms and to reflect movement of crude oil prices on the international market, needs to reduce the prices of fuel by over 25% to have the right impact and to show a true reflection of the price movements on the market. Anything further from that, is a circuitous path of entrenched thievery on a monumental scale and mere tokenism.

Petrol prices at three-year low
Three major UK supermarkets are ushering in the new year by cutting petrol and diesel prices.
Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda all said they would reduce prices by 2p per litre.
Fuel prices have fallen a number of times since September.
Motoring organisation AA said the supermarkets were responding to competition and a fall in wholesale fuel prices.
Since the autumn, each of the supermarkets has lowered prices on multiple occasions. For example, Asda has dropped its prices about 13 times since September.
Luke Bosdet, a spokesman for the AA, said the latest reductions were "in line with wholesale price falls".
"There was a 2p [wholesale] price fall in the past fortnight," he said.
Supermarkets have been responding to price pressures from independent petrol retailers, he added.
Crude oil trading prices have also fallen dramatically.
On Monday, the average pump price for unleaded petrol hit 113.7p per litre, its lowest since March 2010.
Abankwah Jef 11 years ago
113.7p = GBP1.137 = GHC5.685 per litre. This means 1gallon (4.5li) sells for GHC25.582!!. DO YOU PREFER THIS PRICE WHAT IS BEING PROPOSED BY NPA?

This is rather very unfortunate on the part of N D C administration.
NPA made whole World believe that the petroleum sector was being guided by the automatic adjustments systems to regulate petroleum prices downwards or upwards depending on the prevailing world market crude oil prices. Indeed, this system has been in operation for quite some time now. How ever, the refusal of the government or the NPA in recent months to adjust the prices of petroleum products in accordance with the prevailing crude oil prices in the World market, clearly, indicate hidden motives of government. There is no two ways about it.
The recent 10% reduction in the prices petroleum products is nothing but a huge joke of century. Indeed, that reduction is totally meaningless. No relief what so ever would be experienced by the good people of Ghana.
Basically, Government and NPA have failed woefully to tell Ghanaians how the so called debt was incurred. Indeed it could be a huge " good smart move"" in the name of redeeming debt.
John Mahama and his cohorts can do whatever that pleased them, but they should remember that since nothing is permanent on earth, one day, their regime would certainly come to an end and they will be called upon to render account of their stewardship. I will certainly be at that time the true length of the snake would be known.

Interesting price information from Lostee. £1.1 a liter translates to Ghc5.5 a liter. Whereas the price in Ghana is Ghc3.36 a liter. Fuel is cheap in Ghana after all. Hmmm
Your analysis is something ooo
