Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.
“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”, Greenstreet shouted when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional Captial, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”
“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”
He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”
“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”
“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”
The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”
However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

Ghanaians must desist from "worshipping" presidents and begin to hold presidents and leaders accountable. Bravo Greenstreet for showing Ghanaians the right way. Why bow to presidents when they are stealing millions of dollars of tax payer's money. The NDC people are enjoying while the people are suffering. Is this the better Ghana agenda. Thank you Greenstreet and more grease. May the Lord protect you.

Mr. Kwesi Pratt, could you remember that Nkrumah used to incite workers to strike against the Whiteman, but outlawed strikes in his regime and said they were unpatriotic when living conditions were genuinely difficult for workers?
Could you also remember that Rawlings used to incite TUC workers to strike against Liman's government to over throw it fraudulently? And could you remember that he used to take 'Kenkey' to Legon to demonstrate how the size had shrunk under Liman and we ended up in the "Rawlings's Chain" but nobody could talk? Could you further remember that Acheampong and Rawlings used the mild IMF conditions under Busia and Liman respectively as justifications for overthrowing their governments deceitfully? Could you still remember that PNDC reintroduced IMF and the World Bank with more stringent conditions after the coup without apologizing to Liman?
I don't know what the leftists are talking about, and I don't believe that NPP is behind the present wave of strikes either. As far as I know, NPP is only highlighting the failings and excesses of the NDC government, hopping that they would translate into votes for their party in the next elections. And that is, in fact, genuine and legitimate politics since the failings are true and not false. Everybody in Ghana knows that cost of living under this NDC government is unbearable, and NPP is democratically seizing the opportunity to convince the electorate not to vote for NDC in the next elections.
Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with an opposition highlighting the failings of an incapable government to wrestle power from it democratically. NDC is the cause of the strikes because of the higher levels of corruption, over spending, reckless borrowing and overall economic mismanagement that have brought untold hardship on Ghanaians.

Why will you sit down to this far without acting? This small country with overflown resources surprisingly sells fuel to its citizens at expensive prices than in industrialized countries. Mills/Mahama government is the worst nightmare of this nation. The earlier you demand for drastic reduction, the better. Ah why? Oil prices have dropped to the lowest of the low, yet we pay huge prices for a gallon of petrol.

There's no way in hell for these high fuel prices, when the commodity on the world market has dropped and continues to drop.
Indeed, the continued existence of the NPA which is supposed to implement the workings of the automatic price adjustment formula, carefully crafted to determine the upward and downward movements of fuel prices based on refined crude imported into the country by the BDC's has lost it's relevance, and the NPA from henceforth, needs to be scrapped. There's no reason for the existence of the NPA, there's no valid reason for taxpayers to support and pay for the entrenchment and validation of an illegality, and as a first step towards restoring balance and equity in fuel pricing, and most importantly, in line with austerity measures, it's absolutely crucial and infinitely critical that, as a major first step, the NPA is dissolved, because from all indications, it is monumentally and absolutely clear that, the pricing of fuel in the country has it's origins from the Presidency routed through the Ministry of Energy and yoked on Ghanaians by the NPA.
The NPA has lost it's relevance and it has become a smokescreen and a waste of taxpayer funds and needs to be dissolved immediately.
With falling refined crude prices on the world market, as well as a currency which has appreciated against the dollar from highs of about Ghc4:$1, it's a massive and terrifying rip-off of the taxpayer to continue to pay current prices for fuel and it needs to be reduced forthwith. Indeed, such high prices in the face of consistent decrease in price of the commodity on the world market serves no purpose than to cause a continuous and persistent rippling effect of tanking the economy across board, reflected in the high cost/prices of goods and services, and the uncompetitive nature of locally produced products as against cheap imported products, causing a further depression of the unemployment situation in the country.
There's absolutely no valid and logical reason for maintaining fuel prices at the current level, and it is critical that, fuel prices are reduced now.
The carpe diem thrust of the nature of governance under the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't is untenable and as can be seen from all indications has served to be very regressive for the growth and development of the country.
The fuel prices need to be reduced now!!!.
