Strong partisanship started in Ghana when Kwame Nkrumah divided the nation into patriots and traitors. Patriots were those who accepted that he should be president for life, practice one party state and communism and indulge in Leftist anti-Western propaganda using the small country's meager resources to challenge centuries' old, well-established Western countries. They even accepted that he should act as savior of the Blackman around the world, while tyrannizing his own Black people at home because they have alternative views for development of their country.

Those who wanted him to concentrate more on the basic needs of the young nation and tone down his rhetoric against the powerful were called traitors, reactionaries, and agents of imperialism that should be liquidated and imprisoned dead or alive. Could you believe that the opposition members he was tyrannizing were the very people who started the struggle for our independence? They employed Nkrumah and paid for his ticket from the UK to come and work as General Secretary of the group, saving him from the tyranny of unemployment in London. The independence struggle vanguards were senior civil servants in the Gold Coast. And as their struggle was gaining momentum and scope of their activities widening, they needed someone to work full-time for the group; free from official work constrains to further spread message of the struggle.

Under their responsibility and protection, Nkrumah used the platform to become public face of the group and his popularity soared. This was because; many of our people in those days could not differentiate between the spokesperson and the leaders that managed to provide the platform and were the architects of the struggle. Being public voice of the group, they saw him as the person or the only person that was fighting for our independence. Subsequently, when he heard from the Governor General's female secretary, who was later on sacked, that the British were preparing to grant us independence, he increasingly used needless militant tactics to provoke the Whiteman, when it was clear that the wind of change was blowing, and also embarrass his employers in order to outfox them. He then used the opportunity to break away from the group, forming his own party and slapping them from behind to take power.

This explains the strong partisanship in the country and why Nkrumah didn't want the Liberation Vanguards to ever come to power in his life time. Maybe, he was afraid of his own ghost. Unfortunately, and despite all these plain facts, his supporters still want us to believe that he initiated, spearheaded and single handedly fought for our independence, and therefore name every national project after him as if we were in a kingdom.

The BAD BLOOD that President Rawlings alluded to was not because of something WAY OUT of LEFT FIELD that the Vice President, then deputy Minister of Finance did WRONG. It was Rather how those who PEDDLE FALSEHOOD for Personal Gain who wanted the then Minister out Packaged it. They did it to a LOT of PEOPLE.

Rawlings, if you know the man very well, is always ready to acknowledge things which HINDSIGHT would OPT to RE-VISIT. He is so TRUSTING of the People around him that he became UNSUSPECTING of them and the GREEDY BASTARDS took Undue Advantage and used this, otherwise, NOBLE VIRTUE in a Leader, to do evil.

I am very Happy that these TWO PEOPLE I have great admiration for have EMBRACED after almost 20 Years of NEEDLESS and ILL-MOTIVATED Separation.

The PNDC/NDC military-cum-political party from 1979 through to 1981 to 2000, had 21years in gov't, and the Head of this military junta, and now the Founder of the NDC party, is fighting to claim credit for the supply of electricity, water and roads in the country???
Specifically on electricity which served the basis for his statement that sought to commend the Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, considering Ghana's deficit in energy generation capacity, which has been defined as being at the core of Ghana's present predicament with respect to dumsor, dumsor, what did Jeremiah John Rawlings do to address the generation capacity over the two decades the PNDC/NDC was in gov't? Are we to assume Jeremiah John Rawlings was under the impression that, let's grant that the PNDC/NDC spearheaded the extension of electricity, the installed capacity then, was going to suffice for our energy needs, and so by extending the electricity throughout the country, our energy problems were effectively over?
What happened to planning, vision, competence, ability, focus and foresight, factoring in growth of the economy, growth in the population, decentralization of governance and industry, which if it was going to hold promise and achieve results, was going to be invariably linked to energy generation capacity?
It is sooo pathetic, to see him literally fighting to show his relevance in the energy situation in the country, which clearly is not there and has never been there, 21years of absolute waste.

In Ghana our record is that we've created these elite families out of straw with reverence even when there is no there to the bull they sell. The younger Casely-Hayford gets a microphone to yap about topics he doesn't have the requisite knowledge to discuss but gets people to listen because of family lineage. This is true for a whole host of Ghanaian families who have been allowed to go through life without scrutiny. Nana Akufo-Addo is held in high esteem in a nation where our national government has lost every court and or arbitration case because of the poor negotiation skills of government agents during drafting of contracts or the in ability of Parliament to read and understand contracts they read. But let NPP and the star gazer in Ghana put it Nana is a premier lawyer on our land. This sad story of mediocity packaged as added value for consumption is what floats the inability for voters to know the difference between a jackass seeking the presidency or parliamentary seat and a competitor with true love for nation.

Why fight over something that every Ghanaian is proud of, especially the extension of the national grid to the Northern Sector of the country. Yes, the former President and the late and beloved CEO of VRA were both involved in this project. We cannot be fair if we decide to isolate the workers, some of whom lost their lives on this project, without congratulating them. In effect, all of us with the exception of those whose eyes were closed during that period need to claim credit for the Project! having said that we must note that the late CEO and the former President could not have done mush without recourse to Prof. Illiceto of Italy, the Consultant for the Project. This Consultant is very old now but very active and anybody who wants to know the truth, nothing but the whole truth should consult him. I am ready to give out his address, if need be.
