Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with the President's decision to dissolve the NACOB Board. He appointed them and found out that they weren't doing their work as he'd expected and he fired them. In fact, I blame him for not going far enough to fire the CEO as well. He shouldn't even stop there, he should go on to demand the prosecution and dismissal of all the officers at the VIP lounge, the airport security officers and the foreign affairs officers that facilitated export of the drugs.

On the other hand, I don't agree with Mr. Mahama for sending BNI to intimidate and harass journalists who reported on the Nayele Ametefeh cocaine scandal. The government should've sued them in an open court for defamation as any aggrieved person or entity would've done in a democratic system, if it felt that false information had been published against it. This is because Ghanaians don't want NDC to return to its dictatorial and intimidatory tactics of the P/NDC era and gag press freedom again.

When the VVIP lounge was used as a cover to export drugs, the government should have been decent enough to accept responsibility, begin arresting the culprits and be seen to be putting the right rules in place to prevent it from happening again without being told. Logically, there is no fire without smoke and one plus one is two. Definitely, that Alhaji must have some links with people in authority, and the onus lies with the government to prove beyond reasonable doubt that it has nothing to do with the illicit drug business. Furthermore, the ex-NACOB Board Chairman said the VVIP Lounge was a known market place.

Right from the embers of this Ruby Adu-Gyamfi's story, all have maintained that the ladies were given permission to access the VVIP lounge at will unto their waiting BA078 flight to London on that fateful 9th of November day, which has obviously become their last ever journey through that lounge. This was crystal cleared to all and sundry when even Kennedy Agyapong of all people mounted the platform and explained how easy it is to use both lounges only if one is given the all clear to do so.

He further reiterate that the VIP and VVIP passengers uses the same lounge and the only separation distancing the two is just a passageway to a cubicle reserved for the VVIP staff and that was about it. Now then, Mr. Daily Garbage, what is basses of your spin-up here?

How on earth a Judge will ask a Prosecutor if a suspect was holding a Diplomatic passport and the Prosecutor will say no comment in court and any right minded person will believe that?
Even the British High Commission denied she was holding such a passport but Daily Garbage is making it,looks like it is only Ghana government that is saying that.
What Daily Garbage is ignorant about is that you cannot leave the shores of Ghana with.a passport that has no visa in it but you use the one that either has visa or does not require visa to travel to your destination so even if she was having a Ghanaian passport she cannot enter Britain with that passport that was why she used the Austrian passport.

This paper should give us a break,we know better,that VVIP or whatever it is not any highly restricted area,it is only a name,a lot of people use that place,even Kweku Baako said he used it not through any political connection,it is just a matter of knowing somebody there or somebody knowing you,there,they will invite you there,even one of the experts familiar with the place said its usage was more during Kufour and Mills time than it is today.
The entire airport is weak when it comes to security due to corrupt activities of Ghanaians including this Daily Garbage.

You guys are a sham because when anyone in placed under arrest (which is what happens when one cannot move or leave freely on their own volition) the arresting officers and or unit do search their suspect completely to ascertain and record personal belongings to establish chain of command and custodial rights.

One can only get hold of encrypted mediums if they work for the security services. this indicates that she had serious connections with those at the top to acquire such a phone.

The phone came from the military service in Ghana and only those with top secret clearance get that type of devices. I know this because i have worked with such an organisation here in the UK not long ago.

I will say that the British did a bad job because they were unable to arrest the people the drugs were meant for. We also had a tinkling head that it may be a case of conspiracy between the British government and NPP to use this drug issue to beat the NDC, that as soon as in case NPP comes to power the lady will be set free and even be rewarded.
We also wrote that a fish which is a taboo in a particular market does not even stray into that market. Britain, and therefore London is a market for cocaine, thus the cocaine is in the market. It was the scent of cocaine and opium that send the British to Afghanistan to protect the poppy fields from being destroyed by Babarch Karmal and his people.

Everything about this newspaper is politics. They are now creating the impression that the debate about the cocaine case is the solution to our economic problems.In order to make this story look credible, they came out with this lie that one of the defence counsel who wants to remain anonymous said one of the accused persons confided in him that they used the VVIP LOUNGE.

What is that defence counsel afraid of that he wants to remain anonymous? This clearly shows the desperate effort being championed by the 'Daily Garbage newspaper to smear the NDC with the NPP's cocaine.From the look of things this will be an exercise which will not yield anything.

Are there no security cameras at the VVIP Lounge and don't there exist computer entries of all those who used the VVIP Lounge on that day? In this IT day and age we have a huge problem as a nation if our government, security agencies and the legal profession still depend on this antiquated "he/she says but we say" system of accessing information, especially sensitive security related information. How many times have we not heard allegations that the government lied to the people but there were no follow-ups and the story ends right where it began?
The reality is government wields too much power and does not believe it's accountable to the electorate or any other group of people. They can decide when to share information, when and what they want and don't want to tell the people. The situation is worsened by state institutions which are not truly independent and always have to look over their shoulders with fear and trembling and just do what government wants them to do just to hold on to their jobs. We all understand why the culture of job resignations is alien to our environment and culture. The jobs are just not there and people desperately hold on to their jobs till their dying day no matter the circumstances. Once again we have become the laughing stock of both the progressive and developing worlds, six clear months after we initiated a new international standard in bulk money transfer, airlifting millions of dollars in hard currency to pacify a discomfited and disgruntled group of footballers at the Brazil World Cup. What a nation!
