Although I have not seen the applications forms yet, I know that generally, US government forms are simple to fill. What is required is for the Ghana Embassy, community leaders, pastors of the various Ghanaian churches and the various chiefs should organize seminars for Ghanaians who intend to take advantage of the new law. This should include how to fill out the forms.
This is an opportunity to show how we care for fellow Ghanaians.
This is what the Latinos and Latinas are doing. We should remember that not all those in this situation are financially strong to afford the services of attorneys.

Attorneys are for illiterates and semi-literates. You tell a semi-literate "rise" and he will go to the kitchen and take rice and eat it!!! But they make the most noise.

They should look for immigration lawyers to help them.

There is no need for Lawyers or any specialist for immigration forms unless you have committed yourself into serious trouble. Every form has an instruction manual. It is not a rocket science.

That was the advice they gave me when I started processing my papers.---you don't need a lawyer. Yes, on the surface the forms look simply for a masters holder like me. But a simply response, to what looks like a harmless question, landed me on deportation, when I tried to remove my green card condition. I had to endure humiliating insults from a fellow Ghanaian and a Haitian lawyer for that naive mistake I later had to hire an expensive Jewish lawyer to fight my case, after the Ghanaian lawyer refused to touch it. My advice if you can afford the service of a lawyer go for it. Otherwise, you can take the risk of having to pay more when things go wrong.

You are either a lawyer or trying to drum up business for a lawyer. Immigration lawyers are salivating at the chance to make a quick buck from the immigration executive order issued by the President Obama. No one should pay any attorney for a simple service like filing out an immigration form. Anyone can apply without any assistance from an attorney as the application process is simple to complete. Many Latin American foreign Embassies have set up seminars to educate their citizens on the requirements and the application process. They're providing them with the proper documents, such as birth certificates, updated passports, etc. I see no reason why the Ghana Embassy cannot do something similar for undocumented Ghanaians.

What Ghanaian Churches, various association needs to get is bring in experts like you said to educate people who do not know the immigration process. IF you do not know the process, the process can be a challenge, but once you understand it, it becomes a second nature.
