The mere fact that Bagabaga College of Education was established in 1944, and was one of the oldest educational institutions in northern Ghana, disproves the myth being peddled around that Nkrumah introduced Education into the North. In fact, Western Education had been introduced into the North long before Kwame Nkrumah became prime-minister of the Gold Coast.
Northern leaders like S.D Dombo, Jato Keleo, B.K Adama, Tolon Naa, Bawumia and many others might have even completed their education and started their careers, long before Nkrumah was brought to the Cold Coast from the UK to serve as a General Secretary of the group that was fighting for our independence.
It was, therefore, disappointing to see Mr. Mahama plying dirty politics by honouring Nkrumah where he shouldn't have been honoured at all because; Kwame Nkrumah didn't have anything to do with the establishment of BAC. By his action, Mr. Mahama is deliberately perpetuating the myth that Nkrumah civilized Northers by introducing Education to them.
Even the much talked about free education that Mr. Mahama himself enjoyed was initiated and put forward for adoption by S.D Dombo, as a bargain or political horse trading to accept Nkrumah's unitary state proposal, and not any humanitarian initiative by him to enlighten Northern Ghanaians.

Corruption is making access to justice very expensive in Ghana:
Examples: 1) Illegal fees are charged even for typing. Go to Cocoa Affairs courts or the motor courts. For any typing work to be done on your case be prepared to pay not less than GHc10. If you don't pay your work will remain untyped or typed with so many mistakes the magistrate or judge will definitely not accept it. It can take 2 to 3 weeks to get this correctly done. You would have spent a lot of money going to court to check on your docket. 2) For the magistrate or judge to append their signature messenger tells you to pay GHc10 for his/her signature!!
Actual filing fees are less than GHc15
in most cases: 20p, GHc6 etc.
Madam Chief Justice let your office investigate these to let you know the truth. Corruption makes access to justice expensive which should not necessarily be the case. So you find people saying that there is no point taking a case to court but will rather take the law into their own hands.

This is is very cheap politics.
Ghana has been through v v corrupt regimes form independence till date.
To make it look like it is only now that Ghanaians have to accept that it is only under the present administration that corruption has suddenly sprung up.
AS early as 1965, Nkrumah was complaining about corruption.
Under our so called'Liberators of 1966, corruption was more evident and prevelant. Under Acheapong, we heard 'Ko beji golf' etc
under Rawlings, the state devestitude of state assets?
Under Kufour, accounts for
Ghana at 50 celebrations?
My bone of contention is that we tend to look at only so called government corruption. How about the civil service? how about the general Ghanaian population; including the clergy, teachers, the judiciary etc etc?
Stop this pretence!!!!!!!!!!!
