For this to work, we will need a BNI hot number to report any officer who takes bribes from the citizens and the one reporting should also be bold to challenge the police in court that they accepted bribes from them.

The other day I was asked to pay 700 Ghana cedis before my grand daughter would be admitted to a nursing school. And I refused and told the girl to sit at home. Thank after a year at home, she got 2 admissions - Cape Coast Univ. as well as Univ of Education. So just refuse and if you continue refusing, the people will stop. BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT YOU THE POLICE WHO DEMAND THE MONEY!!

It sounds unbelievable to see policemen and women openly collecting one,one cedi from trotro and taxi drivers at dawn everyday.They do this at the full glare of the public.What a shame.
In Kumasi these policemen and women stand at the following places:
1.Manhyia Roundabout near the Asantehene's Palace
2.Aboabo Junction
3.Prempeh Assembly Hall near Rex Cinema
4.19 steps at Akwatialine
5.Bompata near Fante Newtown etc
Sadly enough DCOP Kofi Boakye has failed to stop this shameful practice by the Police.
We are watching if really this assurance by the POLICE will come to fruition.
