When the VIP lounge is used as a cover for exporting drugs, the government should have been decent enough to accept responsibility, begin investigations promptly to arrest the culprits, and be seen to be putting the right rules in place to prevent it from happening again without being told. Logically, there is no fire without smoke and one plus one is two. Definitely, that Alhaji must have links with some people in authority, and the onus lies with the government to prove beyond doubt that it has nothing to do with the illicit drug business. Moreover, the Board Chairman said the VIP Lounge was a known market place.

Anyone, and I mean ANY citizen who is arrested in a foreign land and he/she is being named to come from a particular country had to be visited by that country’s consulate for any assistance he/she may need.
When those two Black British girls were arrested in Ghana for carrying drugs, didn’t the British Government intervene through the British Consulate in Ghana?

When of this nature things happen, people talk from any point they think is in line with logic but most are out of ignorance. The center of our interest must be the total eradication of drug business in Ghana. As it is, we are smelling a foul play in the circles of our authorities which can make the fight difficult, if that were true. Another cocaine sags happened under NPP's administration so, what are we about as a sovereign state? It is so sad that those entrusted with authority betray their trust for money and pleasure. If those in the country behave this way, why does the government call on the diasporas to return and help in building the nation? The pain here is, "Can Ghana ever be a respectful country as we want it to be?" What will a man gain from the huge wealth for which he loses his life? We need the program that will educate us on a citizen's responsibility and right.

Its the airport police who will ring her consulate and her consulate would have been the Austria embassy. The passport you are travelling with is your identity.

If Eric Amoateng was on a Ghana govt mission/duty and got into trouble, it was BINDING for the Embassy to visit him. If he was on private duty, then the Embassy had no obligation to visit him. In this case, the Ambassador could visit him ONLY on his own will - not on working hours and not upon instruction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

So the question did NPP government send Amoateng to smuggle the drugs?

One answeer to your question, if you pretend not to know or if you've conveniently forgotten, Mr. Minority Leader, is that soon following the announcement of Eric Amoateng's arrest in the U. S. in 2005, the Office of the President (i.e., the Castle) under the Kuffuor administration immediately dispatched Kwadwo Mpiani, then Chief of Staff, to the United States to visit the now ex-con man who was then in U.S. custody in New York. This means that someone higher than the Ghana High Commissioner to the U. K. or than the Ghana Ambassaor to the United States, visited Amoateng, even though the Ghana Ambassador could have played whatever role Mpiani was sent to play. Indeed, why did Kufuor's Chief of Staff have to travel all the way to the U. S. to see Amoateng when the Ghanaian Ambassador was available? The NPP knew exactly what they were doing. Everyone in Ghana knows pretty well that the NPP is a cocaine party and that Amoateng was a chief funder, if not the chief funder, of that party.

One should never forget how under the Kufuor administration bags of cocaine in police custody disappeared from the Police Headquarters in Accra. When Kufuor appointed his so-called Commission of Inquirty to proble the disappearance of the cocaine, some of which were traced to the occupant of the Sika Ogua Kofi's palace, Kufuor was so pleased that he quickly promoted the current Chief Justice over and above all her seniors to her current position, because, as Chairpeson of the Commission, she had declared that her Commission's findings were inconclusive, thus saving Kufuor himself, his Paramount Chief as well as his NPP from a terrible scandal.

So, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, away with your hypocrisy and foolishness! Don't suppose that Ghanaians are fools.

How come they have pictures of her every Where she goes,including even her bedroom.Knows the number that travelled and even before the other two returned to Ghana. The cat is slowly coming out of the sack. Running to court first doesn't give one automatic victory. Now thoes making the loudest noice,should come again. Also my small advice to them. They should try to educate their followers on how to comment on issue,because its like they are always in the dark and blindly contrubute to the cheap propaganda messages of their leaders.
