Mr. Portuphy is the best candidate at this time to move the party forward. We acknowledge the contributions of the outgoing Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei. However, it is said, "in politics, timing is very crucial." This is the right time for NDC to bring in a new chairman with fresh vision and ideas. For the sake of continuity, the GS can hang on for another term to assist the new chairman.
I have spoken to many of our members in the diaspora and they all throw their support behind Mr. Portuphy. Many of our diaspora Chapters have collapsed under the leadership of our current National Chairman. The diaspora is looking forward to a new Chairman after the December 20th Congress.

Who while extolling the 'virtues' of Kofi Portuphy in this piece, goes on to 'knock' Kwabema Adjei, the incumbent Chairman, in another? So what were these NDC people 'yaking' about, when the Elephants were cutting each other up during the primary contests? I thought this kind of 'stuff' was alien to the Umbrella Party, but I now know all these people are part and parcel of the 'rented press' in this country!

The strategic brains of Kwabena Agyei, who can offer that? None of those contesting him can offer. His people skills alone is only second to professor Mills in the NDC. Why would you wanna replace him with an untested person?

It will stupid to elect mosquto again, he has failed NDC grassroots big time. John Mahama is govt yet Aseidu cant even make use of his position as party chairman.
What has NDC gain from govt? Nothing, because the chairman is a useless one. All is talk talk and nothing else.
If Aseidu was good John Mahama wouldnt be suffering with all projects he promised. A good chairman should know what his govt is doing at all the time.
Aseidu cant raise money for the party and cant advice his party leader.
What is chairman's job if he cant. Its time NDC get new executives to try again 2020. 2016 elections is all ready in the bag for NPP govt. Its a shame to see a good political party drained to the extend its members are suffering because of mis-management and poor advicers from the leadership of the party.
He and all the executives who kept quite and think John Mahama alone can manage a govt must go.
Ministers are hired without the Party chairman knowing, and you call mosquto a chairman.
He is a chair pussy.

I hope you know what you are talking about, Donboli. Hope you know definitely know who the current NDC national chairman is, and who the General Secretary also is.

Mr Portuphy is no doubt a likeable person. But the thousand dollar question is are we going to see the much needed reforms targeted at entrusting the party back to the grassroots?Observing the recent NDC from a distance i can only see nothing more than power drunk gurus parading as show boys and using their immense wealth to control the party.Any discerning but concerned voice is isolated and ruthlessly dealt with to create a culture of impunity cum autocracy often instilling a culture of fear and silence that ensure the grassroots is marginalized day in day out.The grassroots in this current dispensation has no right to bargain, complain or make any inputs or proposals contrary to the views of those in the corridors of power. I personally can tell for sure a good number of grassroots in Northern Ghana who are joining the opposition NPP because of the ill-treatment often meted out to them by some MPs'and other party stalwarts. Some of these gurus rely on pure propaganda and cheap popularity by exciting some few loud mouth sycophants with their money in their various jurisdictions.Very few of their constituents including those who often work very hard for MPs'and the party in general benefit. The reason why this government is suffering so much is the greed of some NDC gurus taking bribes and rewarding known opposition figures with positions by lobbying for them. There have been a lot of remarks about the ECG boss' commitment until he was recently clumsily replaced by the president. It is the same with the Director General, Ghana Health Service because of his conduct and many others. Are we going to see reforms targeted at flushing out anti-government elements as Chairman Rawlings recommended?Judging by Mr Portuphy loyalty to Chairman Rawlings we only hope he doesn't become yet another wolf in sheep's clothing. If a little bit of the ideals of the revolution of probity and accountability were to be enforced, white collar criminals will not have a field day in our public institutions as of late.We won't be talking about the spade of wanton persistent corruption with impunity derailing confidence in the Mahama government.NDC need a socialist ideologist as a chairman to inject the ideals of social democracy in an NDC government to save the poor tax payer's money.
