A statement coming from the UK high commission surely will bear the signature of the high commissioner, so if the statement is problematic then the high commissioner should take responsibility for that. You cannot issue a statement outside your home country rewriting the operational guidelines of NACOB... claiming that potential traffickers ought to be arrested before they board plane when you should know that potential traffickers means the evidence is also potential and not real and that if you carry such a person to court, you will lose the case for want of the real evidence

The ambassador could have used a different platform to express his views, which I believe are sincere. Using the IMANI platform dilutes/undermines his message since IMANI is an appendage of the NPP.

It is only the novices in Global Politics, and especially our own, who would believe that a British High Commissioner would not have a wish for a particular outcome in any General Elections in a Country that his/her country blames for leading the unraveling her Colonial control in much of Africa, and still maintains a high Economic advantage from.

I would yield to Capt. Assasie-Gyimah and his board`s version rather than the running 'commentary' we are getting from this gentleman!
Recall some of the condecending material one of his earlier predecessors recorded in his personal
memoirs regarding his closeness with fmr. President Kuffour,and his empty boast about influencing the outcome of the 2001 elections?
As far as I am concerned,neither this Envoy or the govt he represents can can lay any or exercise a monopoly over "Truth"! Some of us are very much aware about how certain 'sensitive issues' involving Britain`s participation in the Gulf War[I am referring specifically to the subject of regime change in Iraq],were handled. If my memory serves me right, a very senior intelligence official,committed suicide.
I make this point with no apologies;and I believe if Ghanaians, charged with certain key responsibilities in this country,lived up to their duties,none of this 'stuff', would happen!

For such a group, there would always be secret delight to see the NDC Government vacate power because it harbors many who remain lukewarm to the deals that brought in Kosmos and Vodafone and caused us to lose Ashanti Gold.

Let us love their investments in the Country. But we must not be dumb to the fact that these folks have connected interests they prioritize over our National goals per se, making any of us who seem nationalistic a potential enemy to them. They would therefore always have a preference in our local politics. It is only that it is universally 'uncool' to own that fact for fear of earning the tag of illegal imperial interference in another Nation's Politics.
