I could not believe what I heard Kenndey Agyapong say on this matter. He made a lot of sense, especially not linking this matter with President Mahama just because of his brother's connection with Ms Ametefeh. I am impressed with his position and I hope he will continue with this maturity for long.

If what Kennedy Agyapong said are true, then, Ibrahim Mahama should be arrested immediately. Dr Opuni should be investigated to find out if he knew that Ms Ametefeh was a drug trafficker. If he yes, then he should be sacked for bad judgement.

It's known in the US that Ms Ametefeh was born Ruby Appiah, once married a man called Adu-Gyamfi (so the Ruby Adu-Gyamfi) and has three children. The US source claimed she is from Bosomtwe District in the Asante Region and not an Ewe. The same source said she is the girlfriend of the President's brother. So Kennedy Agyapong may be spot on.

I have used VIP lounges around the world, Kotoka, Heathrow and Houston International among others. There is nowhere in the world that even VIP passengers are allowed to take their hand luggage onboard aircraft without their being scanned especially not in this day of shoe bombers and all that.

So for the ladies to receive such huge quantities of illicit drugs on board a foreign aircraft would have taken more than just airport security. One thing that most of these idiots do not consider is the fact that because of terrorism most foreign flights now have special security on board.

Sorry, but 12.5kg of cocaine through the VVIP lounge of our national airport is not "a useless drug case." At least for those of us who live in the UK, it is not a laughing matter now.

Even our credulous Foreign Minister has admitted the involvement of a businessman. Who is that businessman? Why have they arrested the small flies at the airport and not the businessman? Why did the president cause the arrest of the "messenger" who merely reported this dastardly deed?

It is only in Africa that anyone, including drug hustlers can use VIP lounges to travel. This thing is not only a blot on Ghana, but British Airways as well. Even the luggage of the aircrew are scanned. If indeed that illicit cargo went on board without any checks, it is an indictment on our airport procedures as well as BA itself.

As Ken rightly said, it is not about NDC or NPP or even a matter of trying to level Kufuor and Mahama times. It is about the nation Ghana. Something very serious has happened and tinkering won't cut it!

KKO, the VVIP, I know at KIA is often used without any checks. It is used by senior diplomats (High Commissioners, Ambassadors, UN officials, ministers, etc). In fact, the wide glass doors slide opens and those using it can join a waiting car that takes them straight to the aircraft with their hand luggage. In the same way, such VVIPs are carried from the aircraft by car to the door with their hand luggage on arrival. As far as I am aware such people do not pass through any security checks. Only those who use the VIP may go through some security because they are junior officials and normally use service and not diplomatic passports. The VVIP is within the same building as the VIP with one common entrance outside but two exits into the main airport (one for VIP and the other for VVIP).

Does that not give credence to the allegation that the lady brandished a diplomatic passport at officials at Heathrow? THREE ordinary street girls, possibly speaking barely street level English manage to use a a facility that is reserved for high state and foreign dignitaries just through a single telephone call by an Alhaji businessman?

Someone is not being straight with the people of Ghana and I believe Ken Adjapong has been the most credible person in this whole saga, which is going to run and run!

It's about one's connection to the powers that be. I saw it myself when I was in Ghana and saw off and met people at the airport through the VIP and VVIP. So it is possible for Ms Ametefeh and her friends to have used the VVIP Lounge without a diplomatic passport if really she was Ibrahim Mahama's girlfriend.

Now to your question. If you read my comment, then you would have noticed that the second paragraph began with "if", which meant the suggested arrest is on condition that what Kennedy Agyapong said were true. In other words, if Ibrahim Mahama facilitated the use of the VVIP as being alleged then he should be arrested. Because, he is not a state/government official to facilitated the use of the VVIP by his girlfriend or any other person on his own rights. Second, since that facilitation has led to a a very serious crime being committed (export of narcotic drugs contrary to the laws of Ghana as well as international laws), then he could be charged for aiding and abetting crime. Is that clear.

Moreover, the fact that Ibrahim Mahama is the brother of the president does not give him any special rights or preferential treatment in the eyes of the law, particularly, when he has no
official position within the government.

I will never advocate for the arrest of an individual for merely being the girl/boyfriend of someone who has been charged with drug trafficking unless that individual either knew about the offence being committed and failed to report it or was an accomplice.

This is trafficking, it's a crime and we need not to score some political points in the case, however, the NPP have thought otherwise and have occupied the centre of the debate! This is a serious violation of territorial magnitude and we must not act selfishly, in the name gaining political advantage over our adversary. Importantly, the name of Ghana is at stake and the consequences here could destroy ouf image for many, many years.
The NPP in its bold approach in dumping all over the NDC administration, must take a wiser approach by distancing itself as against its present place in the cocaine traffick. It must also be known, that it has a reckless record which could be called; and what if, the case here goes against it wishes!
We know of your past; the "all die be die", the lodt cocaine lost under police custody, the MP Amoateng case in USA, and others. When it's cocaine, the NPP's prints are all over, but it does not mean the latest ewually had your prints all over it! We must remove politics from what is unfolding in London, England.

It is the drug and slave trade that made some European countries and U.S. rich, thus they are made rich on the insanity of others who they made mad because of the drugs they sell to them.
It is a fact that till the early 1990s the possessing of cocaine and opium was not a crime in the U.S. and most western European countries.

You stop the drug business with the fear that you might be arrested due to the new detecting machines that had been installed at various airport in us. We understood that, you had then abandoned the drug business and went into USA DV Lottery bussines which most of the people in Ghana those days, are not aware of the scaming side of it, because early day there was no pictures on the DV Lottery application forms. So when one submitted a large DV forms and finally had about 40 wins. It's just a matter of who have the money to pay irrespective of the name on the winning application. So Ken who use to do his Lottery business in Tema, Accra and USA, has strong connection with US Embassy Ghana formerly in the old location and Ghana immigration department. So when he charges you and you pay, he then contact this two departments, pay them and get the green card for the concerned applicants right from Ghana, and again look for a place for them in both Ohio or New York or DC. So mostly people usually don't use their real family name. Because the DV wins are not in their name but since their parents or they have the money to pay, they have their way through. Those of us who had class mate you travel to US and back Ghana will understand what iam talking about. But guess what when they started arrested people for fake DV marriage attachments and DNA, Ken quickly stop the business and run into Politics and stood as NPP MP. Matter of fact, Ken is a smart criminal business oriented guy who always be ahead of security organizations both home and abroad. He made the money big time and the number of people he had helped through that fake DV Lottery is huge. For me, I just want him to be quiet and advice the youth to be smart in doing anything they might have found themselves in .
