I am sorry, but if you understand security and surveillance matters, this "Angel cocaine case", was not as a result of a "joint security operation". The woman boarded a plane from Ghana carrying cocaine. Passing through KIA, she obviously was not detected, hence her arriving in London, and being caught. Are you insinuating that NACOB and the BNI knew she was carrying the cocaine from Accra, but allowed her to go and be caught in London? In that case both NACOB, and the BNI were complicit, and should be jointly charged. Ghana NACOB and BNI did not do any joint operation with the Brits, period. NACOB and BNI were either hoodwinked, and had no clue the woman had passed through KIA with cocaine, or they preferred to look the other way in order to give the woman safe passage through KIA. NACOB and BNI had an obligation to stop the woman (and hence any drug carrier) from boarding a flight with narcotic drugs, that is their job, hence their presence at the airport. Akrasi Sarpong in speaking of "joint operation", has lost his understanding of the mandate of his staff at points of departure---that is to stop drug mules/dealers from leaving the source countries (in this case KIA), to other shores.
Now to what president Mahama was saying, his statement to me was a coded way insinuating an intention to clamp down on press freedom, using the media "hullabaloo" about the Angel cocaine case as an excuse. It is not the media circus that is at play here. There is no problem with freedom of speech and or the press. It is some of the people of Ghana, including leading NDC members who tend to contribute to the uncalled for circus by their unwarranted politicized comments. President Mahama needs to give a lecture on appropriate discourse to the likes of Asiedu Nketia, Amaliba, Sam George and others(as well as some from across the political divide), while at the same time staying away from using state security agencies as a means to his party's end. Long live the true Ghana.

Press conferences with questions from the media are an essential part of democracy, it stops all the rumors etc. Inviting the media or folks to the BNI is the bad way of stopping rumors -- it rather intensifies it as it is doing now. Mahama has added fuel to the issue by his recent comments without still putting the full facts out or demanding of the security agencies to put the facts out. Well, the saga continues...

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako Jnr. says the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) was founded on "fraud" and "born out of an illegality."

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's Morning show, Kweku Baako Jnr. stated emphatically that the founder of the party, Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings and his executives during the formation of the NDC, "exploited incumbency" and violated the laws of the nation to set up the party.

According to him, but for the illegal activities perpetuated by former President Rawlings and his cohort, the establishment of the NDC would have been hampered.

Addressing issues regarding the influence or otherwise of Mr. Rawlings in the NDC, Mr. Baako stressed that President Rawlings' dominance in the party has dwindled because the NDC has grown to be an organized political party.

He recounted that the party has now registered with the Electoral Commission, therefore having the mandate to operate as a political party.

“Jerry Rawlings, when he was taking part to constitute what they call NDC; he was still a serving military officer violating the military laws of the country, as well as the national laws. Take it from me! He was perpetuating fraud and deceit; perpetuating illegality. They used State resources to sponsor that party," the veteran journalist asserted.

In terms of organization, Mr. Baako posited that the founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings is a better Organizer than her husband, Mr. Rawlings.

To him, Mr. Rawlings has lost his influence because he failed to adapt to the new growth of the NDC, and added that the myth that he (Rawlings) is the "Alpha and Omega of the party" has lost its saltiness.

Their action to prevent expression carried "a heavy presumption against its constitutionality".
New York Times Co. v. U.S. (1971). We are trying hard to build and improve on our democracy as demonstrated by the leader of the free world: USA.
The gentlemen from Citi FM and Daily Graphic should head off to the Supreme Court for recourse now and proper interpretation of the action of the Executive Branch. We have moved beyond Rawlings' P/NDC era!

You should note the article itself was published today, 20.11.2014 and apparently culled from a Ghanaian media.

Later on, the Ghanaian government was compelled by public pressure to confirm the arrest but was reluctant to confirm issuing the diplomatic passport which the opposition sees as a government cover-up, accusing the Ghana government of trying desperately to sweep the case under the carpet! 'You could be looking at a well-known dealer with connections to well connected politicians at the Presidency, who flies in business class frequently and landed in one of the most strictly guarded airports in the world, this time with 12.5 kilos of cocaine thinking she would be safe. Now that his family members and his NDC party are being exposed for their illicit drug trade, he's trying to discredit the media, who are far, far more credible that the whole gamut of the P(NDC) drug party since it's advent on the governance landscape of the country.
CitiFm and Ghana's media is by far profoundly more credible than the NDC gov't, by far, and this would not cower them from bringing the recklessness of the Mahama-led NDC gov't and party to the attention of Ghanaians.
The fourth realm of the estate would not be cowered and intimidated in the least bit in the pursuit of their mandate. It is a sacrilegious duty they hold towards the citizenry which is infinite in scope.

I was at the conference where the Prez alluded to the case, as a hypothetical one. Adding the equation it just seems this is a white hering case, Somebody in the opposition is behind the lady or the lady has no link with Ghana. Why am I saying this.

1. the source of the news is MP from the opposition side.

2. He media is saying their source is from a paper in Nigeria which does not exist.

3. The picture of the lady tagged with the news is not the real person but an innocent lady alleged to be a mistress of the Prez brothe. This lady is in Ghana as I write.

So why the use of fake photograph? The answer is just to make people believe that some big shots in govt are connected with the woma.

In Frank Cudjoe should be picked up to assist the BNI to solve the mystery of how the drug got to the lady in the plane. Why should the lady go through the VVIP if she was not carrying the drug? Infact Frank seems to know more than the BNI and should be invited for questioning.
