The universities must produce employable workers and enterpreneurs. Majority of the students go in for business studies majoring in marketing and do not see themselves as potential job creators. Whose products are they going to market?
We need graduates who will produce and add value to our myriad of natural resources such as agricultural products.
We speak with both sides of our mouths. The government must get out of business and then the government must employ. What kind of graduates are we producing?

Graduates? Do you guys think you are churning out proper graduates? Go to the public service and see what is happening. Graduates cannot string simple sentences together to write a simple memo. Spelling mistakes all over. You wonder how they passed their exams. It you have lecturers whose preoccupation is to fight govt at the expense of the students what do you expect. No one plants corn and gets rice. This is a natural law. We have graduates who cannot think. Everybody is either doing marketing, HR, socoiology etc. people cannot even realise that before you enter uni u need to do a very good accessment of the job market. Some people go for going sake. Now the craze is masters degree. Go to the public service and people who are nearing retirement age are all doing MBA. I guess there is something wrong with us. If you have about 5 years to retire shoudl you be doing mBA or you should be planning your pension? lets get serious in Ghana. These days even institutions in Ghana prefer people who have schooled outside because the exposure and work output and just perfect. Until the universities start doing the right thing a nd stop this sharing of degrees, masa more graduates will be unemploed. i am sorry if I have touched the sensibilities of anyone but this is true.

Gov Budget should meet the Job challenge
According to the Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana (UGAG), research has shown that some nearly 250,000 potential youth join the labour force annually. The group, which has several tens of thousands of members said out of this number 85,000 plus are graduates and only 5,000 of them are absorbed by the job market.
Job could be created for the 250,000 annual labour force by retraining for one year and placement instead of the National Service with empty focus.
That goal needs original thinking.

Increase revenue to GC870.9 billion by training 250,000 annual unemployed labour force in Agriculture and Fishing industry, Housing and road construction, and Manufacturing to yield GC120 billion and cashing on tax loopholes for GC120 billion; total GC240 billion.
That goal needs an Entrepreneur with fire in the stomach and skills to realise.
Ghana 2015 Revenue of GC430.9 billion will be increased by GC240 billion to GC870.9 billion.
That is self government without external grants and aid.

Ghana has a problem. Why all those distinctions ! With most people attaining
University level Education,What is the meaning and the essence of "Unemployed Graduate Association".
What these so called graduates do not realize is that such associations has outlived its time. So,where's their intelligence ! There are several levels of jobs that satisfies most people according to their lives, levels and ability.Again,it's the right of every person who wants to work to be given the Chance /opportunity.It's Not the sole privileged of only University graduate to be considered for employment. All categories of levels of peoples should work. These kinds of ideologies encourage discrimination a sense of one better over his fellow man/woman,and lack of foresight. All and sundry need to work to make a living, and not only Uni graduate should work !
