Prof., you are a genius, and Ghanaians appreciate you for that. Unfortunately, our politicians know next to nothing about the relationship between science and development. Moreover, they simply do not care. They are only interested in amassing wealth for themselves and their families. They don't care about Ghana as a nation.

Scientific knowledge systems, including information and communication technology, Prof. Allotey said, had become the pillars in the accelerated development of the industrialised countries.
The application of modern science and technology would resolve the menace of Ebola and cholera in West Africa,

A sovereign nation which is in quest to develop plans and budget for Scientific Research. In Germany here, the government makes sure the research institutions(Universities and Institutes) have funds for their work. There are too much frustration in the Lab. Very few people have the spine of STEEL to do real scientific research, even in the developed nations. Fortunately, they don't struggle so much to look for funding to do research and train the next generation to make their development sustainable.

Sir Bronsted you did not us how it is supposed to work. We must certainly promote scientific knowledge in our country by any means necessary.

Scientists everywhere in the world have not depended on govt to develop. Some of them even lost their lives according to their convictions.I think it is about time our Scientists come out with innovative ideas. To do that, they need to establish a Science Digest which can catalogue some of their research to the public and for the entrepreneurs to become interested.I mean they have to publish their findings, projects and problems through some newspapers or give out information to the public on regular basis. It is only when the entrepreneurs know exactly what our Scientists are doing before they can invest their capital and interest.Thank you.

Why would Prof Francis Allotey not quip why every position of authority in Ghana is held by someone from Ghana's educated class and yet work product from every institution of government including our universities cannot pass muster? We are a third world nation because the educated and political elite class that have run this nation since independent have not been cut out with wisdom, foresight, ideas and ideals; they've all been driven by tribal and party loyalties that drives bribery, corruption and nepotism which is inherited from not being principled and moral.
