Ironically, the Best Minsters of Agricultures past and present governments has had have all been Ewes and they have always been successful. To name a few: Commodore Steve Obimpeh of Rawlings Era, Late Hon Courage Quashigah of NPP Kufour Era, and of course the Ahwoi brother of Atta Mills Era who also did well except that he isn't an Ewe and yet did also well.
So u see, your hateful tantrums has no place in Ghanaian politics, Ewes has always been the backbone of Ghanaian politics one way or the other and if you think the Ewe relevance begun when Rawlings came unto the scene then you are mistaken. Ewes were the lead protectors of Kwame Nkrumah when he was incarcerated under the British government for inciting mass protest. Korbla Agbeli Gbedemah was the key man to lead Kwame's campaign to enable their party win the elections. Fast forward, Ewes were the lead coup makers to overthrow Kwame Nkrumah again for the conniving Ashanti to secretly plot to kill the lead Ewe who was Lt. Gen Kotoka and of course others to enable him usurp the chairmanship as he wanted. The list goes on and on and on, so u see, Ewes have always been pro and anti in all spheres of the republics life. Before it was a republic and after it became one, the problem with history is that, once the writer decides to write an angle that suits their agenda the rest is left out as if nothing happened there.
Lastly, illiteracy also plays a major part in your ignorant burst of insults on a clearly educated man Fiffi Kwetey who to all intents and purposes is miles ahead of any member of your family presently and in the past as well. Appreciation of issues in a practical way may help you understand that, once a person nails their flag to a specific party doesn't make it necessary for them to throw tantrums at every given opportunity even if they have no cause to. Be smart and be discerning and criticise constructively and also more importantly, always table the alternative SOLUTIONS rather than just insulting. Smart citizens always propose #AlternativeSolutions.

Make Agriculture appealing and intellectually stimulating.
After all, it is all about FOOD PRODUCTION, a rather complex field encompassing many specialty areas.
For instance, it takes civil and structural engineers to construct irrigation canals. It requires soil scientists to direct people to the most fertile lands. And it might even be necessary to rely on remote sensing satellite technologists to determine forthcoming weather patterns that can affect food production.
The field needs proper MARKETING. In this day and age, it is not really about farming -- FOOD PRODUCTION is what it is all about (and by the way, that includes fishing).
The youth come with various talents and natural aptitudes. Use interesting marketing to direct them to areas they can be passionate about AND productive:
- SEED PRESERVATION SPECIALIST
- IRRIGATION ENGINEERS
- SEED DISPERSAL SYSTEM DESIGNERS
- SOIL EVALUATION CHEMISTS
- FERTILIZER CHEMISTS
- FERTILIZER PRODUCERS
- FOOD PRODUCTION MACHINERY SUPPLIERS
- FOOD PRODUCTION MACHINERY MECHANICS
- FOOD HARVESTING SPECIALISTS
- FOOD PRESERVATION SCIENTISTS
- FOOD TRANSPORTATION SPECILISTS
- SOIL ELECTRONIC MONITORING SPECIALISTS (those who plant smart probes into the soil to automatically send text messages about the moisture content)
- FOOD PRODUCTION METEOROLOGISTS
- SEED IMPLANTATION TECHNICIANS ( formerly called "FARMERS")
- FOOD GROWING PATHOLOGISTS (in charge of plant diseases)
- FOOD HARVESTING MANAGERS
- FOOD PRODUCTION ECONOMISTS
- FOOD PRODUCTION ACCOUNTANTS
- and so on.
Indeed, you can get the youth to be excited about the world of food production.
After all, from kings to paupers, EVERY human being MUST eat, and some smart people have made billions of dollars from that fact!

Government have never made this area more attrctive for young people. If incentive are given for younger starter that may help. Currently nothing is there in the offering for our youths.

How? Work with the national house of chiefs/ministry of cieftaincy affairs to reform thland tenure system; reintroduce the workers brigadge BUT limit the number of workers to be allowed into it and make entrance competetive and pay them above daily wage; GYYEDA must be trimmed down and make transparent and then improve agri curriculum in the high schools and support non-traditional exports.
