THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE HAS COLLAPSED. THE NHIS HASN'T REIMBURSED ALL HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR 9 MONTHS NOW BUT THIS IS WHAT THE THIEVING NDC/MAHAMBOLE ARE USING OUR TAX FOR. WHILE THE ACC GENERAL PAYS WORKERS OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH WORKERS, OWNERS OF PRIVATE HEALTH FACILITIES CAN'T AND ARE FOLDING UP. SERIOUSLY, ALL PRIVATE HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS MUST MEET TO ANNOUNCE THE OBITUARY OF THE NHIS AND START 'CASH AND CARRY' IF THEY DON'T WANT THIS PROPAGANDA-INFESTED NDC GOVT TO COLLAPSE THEIR BUSINESSES. AFTER ALL THE KNUST HOSPITAL AND PRESTEA GOVT HOSPITAL HAVE STARTED 'CASH AND CARRY.' THE SATANAIC NDC WILL,OF COURSE, NEVER ANNOUNCE THE OBITUARY OF NHIS LEST THEY LOSE THE 2016 ELECTIONS BUT IN SO DOING OUR HEALTH SECTOR IS GRINDING TO A HALT. START 'CASH AND CARRY' NOW !!!!!!!!!!

Government must also pay realistic salary to some these workers. How can we fight corruption when people are paid monthly salaries less than what most of the goverment officials give as daily pocket money to their children when they are going to school. Most workers on government pay roll receive below $50 dollars a month. How do you patriotism from such a worker? The inbalance in the pay structure is too much.

That is no excuse! There are common people in the society who will rather protect their good name than steal!!In the past, thieves were shunned in the society, but now,the end justifies the means, so thieves are respected and that makes the vice lucrative!! I remember when I was a teacher in the 80s during the Rawlings chain,I subsidised my earnings with a backyard garden, rabbit rearing and a fishpond.

This is worrying but is no surprise. Even is the monies were collected into the accounts of the GRA, it will end up in some NDC account and the potholes will continue getting deeper. This is a miscarried state.

All over the world men never get enough of their daily needs and supplies. Unless restrained and hindered one way or the other, the natural man who is always an enemy to all righteousness, will satisfy his needs and wants by any means possible.
In their desperation to survive the odds stacked unfairly against them like insufficient renumeration, these toll booth workers steal from their employers.
Is it not the natural order of activity that after the king of the jungle, the lion, has killed its prey and served itself a good lunch, don't scavengers like hyenas, dogs and vultures come and have a meal from what's left of the carcass? Scavengers go where the carcass is.
It shouldn't have to take rocket science education to understand that the toll booth workers are not the only ones dipping their hands into the toll booth revenue. There has to be a couple of senior level employee partners-in-crime or collaborators. The blame goes all the way to the presidency. It's the lack of leadership from the top down the chain that make such petty crimes possible. If the big actors are getting away with millions why not a few hundreds for the boys and girls?
I don't want to hear that the Minister for Roads and Transport is unaware of what's going on at the tool booths. If he isn't, then he doesn't deserve his job and if he doesn't deserve the job then why is he still on the job? It means someone higher up the chain is sleeping on the job and does not deserve his job either. He is a partner-in-crime and such type of leaders we must no longer entertain.

It is what we call breakdown of law in Ghana. When we have judges who are POORLY trained, don't understand the law and can ONLY persecute goat and chicken thieves, what does one expect? We have economic and political ARMED robbers degrading and destroying Ghana, yet we find these colonial minded clowns with white wigs unable to judge cases. Ghana needs a serious overhaul of its system from our KUBOLOR president who doesn't know whats going on around him to the petty thieves who call themselves CHIEFS.

the right solution is to replace them by installing an automatic toll machine/booth, where one picks a ticket when joining the motorway and pay when exiting.

I challenged them and the officers there told me I can send the information to the president, they don't care because nothing can be done to them. This act has gone on for more then 5 months as far as I can remember. WHAT IS GOING ON IN GHANA TOOL BOOTHS. OPEN, NAKED ROBBERY

Did you say commercial drivers? I travelled with my boss to Ho and on our way back, towards the Accra side of the motorway we paid and issued with a receipt. After we had crossed the motorway at the Tetteh Quarshie end, we stopped to buy something and out of curiosity my boss looked at the ticket and it was over a year. We immediately went to the booth at the Tetteh Quarshie end to enquire whether expired tickets were issued. The officer in the book said no and we informed him what had just happened. He was quick to say that it might have been an oversight. We then asked him what an expired ticket was doing in the booth at that time but he could say nothing but promised to draw their attention. A few weeks later, it was on air that, that was what they do so this is nothing new. Na Ghana for you.

Can't win no matter how hard you try. This is the Ghana we now live in. Complain about others while we do similar wrongs. Even if we put trained snakes in the booths to take a bite at every infraction, the thieves will find a way. All they will probably do is, get some rats or chicks to feed the snakes while they go about their stealing frenzy. Just to quote the once famous Bob Cole, " if home was good, my brother, there will be no handcuffs on my hands" In short, the economy is not good and people will steal as long as it stays the same.
