The GMO corporations are already producing the "Frankenstein" seeds - genetically engineered to produce deadly poisons(pesticides).

Monsanto sells seeds engineered to produce their own pesticides. Genes from the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis are inserted into plant genomes. The plant cell then produces an insecticidal protein known as Bt which gets incorporated into food.

Dow AgroSciences is awaiting approval of GM corn that can withstand spraying with 2,4-D, an ingredient in Agent Orange, the deadly dioxin-based defoliant used by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. Soybeans and cotton that can withstand 2,4-D are also planned.

Our only way out of the coming nutritioal slavery is to create a repositary for original uncontaminated seeds and avoid the planting of gmo seeds. GMO seeds contaminate non-gmo fiels when they are dispersed.

Sadly, I know our government won't take any steps to protect us when they can make money from bribes and kickbacks (aka "lobbying" by the gmo corps). In fact, our Ministers and MPs are salivating at the prospect of receiving "lobbying" money from Monsanto & Co, if we remember the $5000 paid them under Kufuor by Vodafone!

But besides his life-saving, full-time job as a professor at the Ghana Medical School, Akosa has always offered free advice to our government. Interesting you should mention farming. Read Akosa's manifesto when he competed for the Presidential candidate (or Flag-bearer) position of the CPP. Just google it, and you will know that he made agriculture his main focus for achieving food sufficiency and also solving rural youth unemployment.

Now, in all US government buildings smoking tobacco products is prohibited.It took the government several years to determine the effects of lacing this tobacco products with carcinogens and genetically modifying the tobacco. Our grandfathers and great grandfathers smoked pipes filled with tobacco they grew on their farms and they lived into their old ages while our middle age and young fathers smoked modified cigarettes that killed them from lung cancer. Do we want to wait till we massively start dying from GMO products before we react? Let's wake up Africa!!!

My friend, commonsense should tell you that if someone targets you food, that person is looking for a way to cause your extinction.

What is wrong with the traditional way of growing our food or do you prefer someone to control the seeds that we grow and if that person decides to stop providing you with the seeds, what are your options? To fight and for what reason? GMO, will in the end cause our demise.

I am a son of a Farmer, and my tittle in Ghana is "Tendana" which means " statesman / native " My ancestors owned a vast land. That if I am to go into farming, I simply go into the land get ready to farm. Tendamba in Ghana are the only rightful persons to give out plots to build. I don't go to the government for land, rather government has to approach Tendana for land.So please elders at home mustn't allow chemicals to our crops. Already we are poisoned through pipe, we have to continue with water from our wells and not from the rivers any more.
