Mr Minister your message sounds convincing, but we are also apt to ask whether these are mere words. Patronizing local goods calls for an incubatory industrial base, along with tariffs designed to discourage importation of goods that can be locally sourced.
So what were you-team "A" members of NDC, thinking when you sold off Ghana's industrial base, only to search for same years later ? We definitely have an uphill task ahead of us, getting our people to buy local. People's acquired taste for the past ten or so years, have been serviced by foreign goods. So how do we break that cycle ? If you try forcing it, smuggling will become a very lucrative activity to engage in. Moreover, you cannot flatly deny other countries exports into Ghana.
In the end you- Mr Minister have to use your persuasive powers to convince people otherwise. You and a your cohorts must also lead by example this time around. We all remember very well how Ghana's educational system was intentionally re-designed for the better, yet failed woefully to achieve its intended objective. Leaders in power, sought solutions abroad for their children, while others who couldn't afford to do so, had to tough it out. Till date this matter has not been properly addressed. You would think the very people who benefited the most from the past educational largess would be considerate of the up and coming ones. It sure isn't the case as we see it today.

The major issues are Energy, Water, and well organized and safe local transportation. Tax incentives will yield effective telecommunication, marketing strategies, manufacturing leading other ancillary industries including but not limited to quality education/labour followed by research and development. Stop your stupidity and be very practical. You just another intellectual waste. Read pragmatic literature for development and bring to the table people who have the practical ideas and skills and stop that party stupidity

This is common sense, the government cannot just create job like manna coming from heaven, they need to create an embracing business-friendly country with no "dumbo" to attract investors to come in and produce in Ghana.

If Ghanaians are to face facts then we can easily say that our local manufactureres ought to be adviced or be made to know that the finishing of their products raise a lot of questions of their seriousness and experiences of what they produce.
In reality nobody would like to buy products that do not look nice in the eye. Of course I can understand why people will prefer foreign goods to our local ones. It is only because of the beauty that the products command.
For example; a table manufactured by KPOGAS or any other company in Ghana can never be compared to the ones from outside. Sometimes ours will look stronger but commands no beauty.
The question hanging here is how can we bring good finishing of our local goods in order to command beauty which is the money in today's world. Can our parliament be furnished with stuffs that commands no beauty that could upset visiting people from outside?
We shall all like to patronise our local made goods but I think we have to learn how to criticise our local producers of their dirty lazy work which sack us from their products.
Even if the companies have the machines to do the finishing of the products which can command the marketing of the products, the next thing will be where are the well TRAINED workers to man these machines.
Which schools has our nation put there to train the personnels who may work to produce the good finishing products for our use.
In China people are trained to come out with fine / good finishing products which attract the consumer even though it may not last long.
The best solution is; it is time for us all to realise that there is a need for governments to attach importance to the training of our young people in the area of skilled work in the schools, and not to leave them to get trained by the 'roadside by force' and so called owners of workshops.
Again the primitive mind set of only having interest in 4x4 SUVS of the Ghanaian leaders who can be found in all the political parties ought to be changed, so that they help build the economy by training our youth to help produce good finishing local goods that will influence both local and foreign markets/consumers.
Who on earth will like to buy goods which are not well finished? Spio- Gabrah can answer us well.
