Coming out to defend the indefensible is outright bull crap. What a hell you talking about a contractor you spoke to said it would take 1-1/2 years to come with a good and satisfactory job. Speaking with one contractor and relying on his opinion is absolutely nonsense. By the way why 10-man contingent was sent to China for these irresponsible deal when Ghanaian Furniture Companies are dare need of such contract to hire other artisans in that trade to assist them? Now let you fools come out with your nonsense taxes which is killing entreprises and the poor folks and we will decend heavily on you all fools in parliament and the executive branch. Now where is Omane Boamah and his nonsense saying on Tuesday that Mahama does what he talks. Is this real. Bunch of so-called useless honourable dodos.

There is a place where you can be sure that you would find a representative (MP) from every part of Ghana year round gathered together to deliberate on the future and the current state of this country. Where is that? Parliament house of course. If there is such a place then how should the place and the people there be treated in the scheme of things? What priority should such a house be given in the governance of the country? If there is such a place then what kind of people should we send there and how should we assess their performance?
Parliament must also provide a readily available renovated residence in Sakumono to a newly elected parliamentarian. Accommodation in Accra/Tema is expensive and not every MP-elect may have the money to rent a house as he or she may have exhausted his or her funds running for office.

This clearly shows the depth of complicity in Parliament to dwell more on imports than local products.
And to answer the Minority Leader's rhetorical question on whether the Parliament had to wait for a year for new Seats, I say: "YES!!!"
There was no indication the old Seats in Parliament would not survive another year. So, yes, the MPs could have waited for a year for a local manufacturer to delivery on the Furniture. Moreover, the Minority Leader admitted to talking to only one Furniture Manufacturer. Why did the Parliament not make the bid open to invite more potential local Manufacturers? This is the kind of procuring system in Ghana that has caused us massive loss of funds, over the years, through Corruption and incompetence.
Secondly, I think the Parliament conceded to the importation of the furniture to mute any agitation on the despicable loss of all our Quality Wood along with our massively devastated Forests.
The painful truth is that we do not have adequate high quality Wood locally easily available. And any special importation of Wood to undertake that project for the Parliament might have awkwardly revived the agitations on the Parliament's shared blame for causing the loss of our Forests.
The Parliament cannot escape the blame for our current predicament with our Forests and Wood. And its guilt would continue to tell on its performance for a long time till we grow our Forests back to reasonable levels of expanse and quality.
Shame unto the MPs!
Long Live Ghana!!!
