I think it would be better for the authenticity of the story to be verified. Mind you, NPP has elected Akufo-Addo as their presidential candidate and one of the messages for which they want to ride on into power is CORRUPTION.

Can you believe this nonsense from this Asare “Gabby” Otchere-Darko guy? In fact, the NPP party have nothing different to offer Ghanaians and have instead resulted into lying uncontrollably to hopefully achieve their target which is obviously the presidency at anyhow necessary. Now, the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) is wholesomely a government entity and any loan registered in their name have to come before the floor of the August house for approval or refusal. Therefore, the GNPC can not and I repeat, can not go seeking loan on their own from both domestic and international banks or organization without the government of the day as well as the parliament saying so.

I think I have to alert the Frankfurt-based Deutsche Bank in on this story since they simply don't go around signing unapproved loans for cooperates, institutions, governments or individuals just for the sake of it. Thence, Asare “Gabby” Otchere-Darko get your legal team ready to hear from the Deutsche Bank pretty soon.

Exploration is by nature risky and speculative. You may or may not find the "gold mine'. So what sense does it make to contract to repay the loan using revenue from the Jubilee find when we cannot say for certain that the exploration will yield sufficient revenue to be self financing?

Didn't Kosmos finance its own exploration and offer the nation 10% of the share of the potential revenue. Is the 10% what we are using to launch an exploration exercise? Has Parliament sanctioned this loan given that Parliament itself set down the rules for disbursing revenue from Jubilee?

The USA people do not hear of such monies wasted as is being done in Africa. Some of these monies can reduce poverty levels in Ghana drastically if invested in a productive venture. Government do go in for foreign aid loans b ...

The way I see this story, about 80% of the entire content was provided to "The Statesman" by Mr. Okyere-Darko. "The Stateman" publishers cannot force GNPC for their side of this story.
