Marijuana, as all drugs can be beneficial and at the same time harmful in its use. When use properly it can be medicinal and much better than alcohol. There is enough evidence out there that it is much safer than alcohol in terms of toxicity. However there is a need for a proper gov't to address the issue and educate the public or people about this. Systems need to be in place to educate and support affected people but not to criminalize those victims. There has been and there is still very intelligent, godly, generous and powerful people who has used this substance in their lifetime.
I believe what we need to focus on are:
(a) Educating people or providing much information for the users of this medicinal substance so that they do not abuse it or stop using if there is no benefit for them.
(b) Stop criminalize those who use it but rather legalize it but put tax on it and not to be smoking in public places since any smoke whether cigarette, cigars or marijuana should not be smoking around those who choose not to smoke.
(c) Investigate properly this report or claim made by "NACOB that Ghana is the number 1 weed smoker".

It might be that there is propaganda there which I feel the Ghanaian people don't need at the moment.
There is more better things to focus on, for instance; high unemployment rate, corruption, healthcare, roads and lack of other infrastructure programs to help develop our lovely mother Ghana.

Also dear brothers and sisters, please ! Please!! Please!!! Stop insulting one another and let us all work together and pray for our blessed country Ghana for a better and bright future.

Way back in history, when the name of this drug, marijuana aka WEED, was introduced in Ghana, some illiterates down there couldn’t get the correct pronunciation of the word "weed" and simply called it "WEE" and the rest of common sense has been smoked out!!

If much of the report is based on international sources and actions; such as:

1) A UN report ranked Ghana 3rd in the weed smoking Olympic tournament;

2) That Ghana must adopt the "drug court system" as it is done in the United States; &

3) That 20 countries, including Australia and New Zealand, have adopted the "drug court system."

THEN, I SUGGEST GHANA ALSO USES THE CORRECT INTERNATIONAL NAME FOR THE DRUG, WHICH IS "WEED" AND NOT "WEE". Marijuana is weed plant just like the weed in your back yard, weed in your garden, and weed in your cocoa, yam, plantain and all other farms, so don’t call it wee, but weed!!

Each of these certificates are important. For example for many tertiary graduates the only certificate that can tell whether one can speak good English or whether one has adequate knowledge of Mathematics is the Secondary School Certificate.

Similarly the only certificate that can tell whether a tertiary graduate has basic knowledge of Ghanaian history, culture, agriculture and the basic geography of West Africa is the Basic Education Certificate.

If the price of AKPETESHIE(kill me quick)is icreased it can reduced somoking because the two goes together as they are relatively cheap .
The second reason is it help people in social crimes such as robbery , pick pocketing and in sex trade . Once those whose who use , they do not feel shy . Most students also use wee to enhance learning . Our tertiary schools and High school are centres were wee is mostly used .

My nephew has reached a stage he doesn't want to go to school but his father is prepared to pay what it takes to put him at a better level. He used to be very innocent until he started secondary school and got hooked to ganger. No one believed it when someone tipped us, until his father found them in his clothes and a second time met him smoking his head out when there was no one home.
I was driving home recently and i met a very young man 'dishing' out a young lady with a toddler at her back. i was worried and stopped to help the lady and the child. It was then a realised the lady is the young man's fiancee and the toddler his child. Why is he beating her then? The lady had gone to buy banku to eat and the guy went to drink 'aloso' wee and akpeteshie to join in eating the food but came to meet empty bowl.
you may not believe me as i initially doubted the narration until when the guy was pined down by passerby and he tried to justify him self he has no money to buy food so she should have not finished the food.
What people were asking the lady was why should you keep on with such a person? I knew from earlier studies how wee is an aphrodisiac and some women prefer good pounding even if the pounder is a killer.
