THERE WAS A FREE FLOW OF DRUNGS IN AND OUT. THIS WAS EVEN EVIDENT ON THE SEAS WHEN 70 PLUS DRUGS WAS SEIZED AND DISAPPEARED IN POLICE OFFICES IN GHANA.

THE NPP DRUG CARTEL TOOK CARE OF "BUSINESS" AND COVERED ALL. DRUG PROFITS FUNDED NPP CAMPAIGN COFFERS. HUMMERS CARS DRIVEN BY UNEMPLOYED MEN FLOODED ACCRA AND KUMASI. AMOAKOHENE, A RELATIVE OF AKUFO AND WORLD KNOW DRUG DEALER WAS CLOSE TO APPREHENSION IN GHANA ALSO DISAPPEARED WITH A DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT (AKUFO WAS THEN THE FOREIGN MINISTER) AMOAKOHENE IS NOW LANGUISING IN JAIL IN BRAZIL

THEN AMOATENG - NPP DRUG KINGPIN GOT CAUGHT OUTSIDE THE CONFINES OF GHANA IN THE USA WHERE HE COULD'T BUY HIS WAY OUT. THIS STILL DIN'T SEND A CLEAR MESSAGE TO THE NPP DRUG CARTELS UNTIL THE NDC CAME TO POWER AND CLEANED UP THINGS.

THIS IS ONE REASON WHY I WILL NOT SUPPORT AN NPP GOVERNMENT IN WHATEVER SHAPE OF FORM.

In any case which document did the man knew he was travelling with back to Ghana if he was surprised to see this one. God less.

The insurer of the passport has nothing to do with it because I know and believe the lady in question did the passport herself and sold it to the drug lord. The lady must also be arrested for conspiracy

A passport is later given to which is a trap set by his state managed enemies to beat him again when he is already down. Who actually stole the lady's passport and tampered with it to be given to Amoateng? Did the said lady ever report of her missing passport? BNI please, you can do a better job than this sloppy one on Amoateng. Are you working for the state, NDC or Amoateng and NPP enemies?

Normally you will get a warning and the passport taken from you. Still a crime but let's not pretend we all don't know someone who is done it. However someone in his position need not have done it as the Americans would have ...

However someone in his position need not have done it as the Americans would have been compelled to act on his behalf to get him out of the country. People even sometimes get deported without passports

Would he have been detained or let go? After all, the fact that the BNI knew ahead of time that he was on that particular flight due home, attests to the Ghanaian Authorities having no difficulty to recognize that he was a Ghanaian coming back home.

What happens to Ghanaians who cross the border in Aflao and other ports of entry by land and do not have Passports? Do the Immigration Officers check for their IDs other than Passports?

The guy needed to return home, after having served his time in the USA. He cannot be punished again for the same crime back in Ghana. So, it is inconceivable that the Authorities might have deliberately thwarted his return trip to have him breach the Law again only to send him back to jail on this smaller offense.

It smells like someone intended to score a Political vendetta with him. He is not a dangerous, machete or gun toting criminal who runs around butchering others. His crime has more to do with mere illegal acquisition of wealth via dealing in contraband. Given that the drug trade is rife with Murders, this side of the illicit business as Amoateng partook in rarely leads to direct physical peril to anyone.

He has paid a hefty price for the crime he was found guilty of--jail time, and loss of his Parliamentary position. He may not be a good role model for our kids, but he surely is not the kind of criminal that deserves to be put away forever.

We must try to sensibly handle such cases in order not to breach the human rights of individual culprits in our own efforts to seek Justice.

I hope the Court would put this case in the proper context and give Amoateng a slap on the hand and have him sign a memorandum to stay out of trouble for a long time.

We have a funny way of meting out Justice. Where are the culprits who infiltrated the Police strong vaults to replace the Cocaine exhibit with Baking Soda? Where are those who enabled the theft of the Ship-load of Cocaine that was confiscated some few years ago?

Why is Woyome still prancing around with his chest out after duping us to the tune of 50 plus Million Dollars? Why do we have his accomplices in that Judgment Debt crime still walking free, with some in Parliament as MPs?

Once the Court ruled that Woyomegate was a fraud, a crime had been established to have been committed. We have not even succeeded in retrieving that money, let alone prosecuting Woyome for his malfeasance. The State Attorneys who connived with him to receive the money were tainted beyond doubt as the wife of one of them received a share that was claimed to have been loan. Only in Ghana could such blatant crime be so easily concealed into some genuine private business transaction.
