I totally agree with your sentiment. The newspaper editors could have done a better job. What an absolute disgrace to journalism in Ghana. Ghana has indeed retrogressed on all fronts -what a shame.

I agree with you Nzema K, instead of these "journalist " to educate the public they tend to spread fear and misinformation . These newly borns have congenital abnormalities period and it can happen to anybody . There's nothin ...

These newly borns have congenital abnormalities period and it can happen to anybody . There's nothing bizzare or a taboo about these babies. It's only in Africa that we discard handicap persons like garbage, sure these adorable babies will go through their fair share of medical treatments but God will see them through, they are not freak shows!

Siamese twins walk into a pub in Omaha Nebraska, and park themselves on a bar stool. One of them says to the barkeeper, 'Don't mind us, we're joined at the hip. I'm John, he's Jim. Two Molson beers, draft please'.
The barkeeper, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. 'Been on holiday yet, lads?'
'Off to Ghana next month,' says John. 'We go to Ghana every year and hire a car and drive for miles, don't we, Jim?'
Jim agrees.
'Ah, Ghana!' says the barkeeper. 'Wonderful country... the history, the beer, the culture...'
'Nah, we don't like that Ghana crap,' says John. ' Hamburgers & Molson's beer, that's us, eh Jim? And we can't stand the Ghanaian's - they're so corrupt and rude like the Nigerian's'
'So why keep going to Ghana?' asks the barkeeper.
'It's the only chance Jim gets to drive.'

My question is did the mother ever have a scan to see the fetus of her babies? If so why didn't the doctors take necessary actions needed to prevent this from happening to a new born? It's unfortunate. I think it's about that ...

It's unfortunate. I think it's about that Ghana Health System step up their game in terms of using quality technology in diagnosis.
