Very few people give part of their lives to serve humanity and Sister Efua was one.She has made our country Ghana proud. Her toils and self sacrifice must be acknowledged by the world especially women. By women I mean our daughters, sisters and mothers. For this sacrifice in tackling the health hazards that Female Genetical Mutilation engenders in our society, our country Ghana must give Sister Efua a befitting state burial.

The flame that you lit will continue to burn brightly for generations to come. You fought bravely, touched the world, and made a significant impact. And for that I salute you.

Such a loss is what deepens the mystery of Life and the purpose of Humanity. While the good ones often leave too early, the bad ones still live on to continue messing the lives of many others, destroying whatever good the others have built.
In moments like this, however, it is the excellent quality, significance and the high degree of positive impact these few exemplary ones we lose so early make on Humanity in perpetuity that makes them all special.
We wish these great contributors to our well-being would live much longer among us, but only Providence knows why they have to leave us so early. Maybe, they do so that we can always miss them most and recognize daily how important their work has been to all of us. We can only be most grateful them.
May she rest in perfect Peace by her maker's side!!

After reading this excellent report, I knew could not have been written by a Ghanaian reporter. The contrast is like day and night, which begs the question: are Ghanaian journalists so mediocre or just plain stupid? In the above report, the writer tells his/her readers how old was the deceased when she died - something you will never see in Ghanaian journalism. The writer also the date of birth of the deceased and the surviving members of the deceased's family. The only thing missing from the report is the cause of death, which I understand can be a sensitive issue in the Ghanaian cultural framework.
I hope our dumb Ghanaian journalists would read this report and learn from it.

Great observations, Mr Yeboah. The writer did indeed mention the cause of death as cancer, but you are so right about the poor quality of Ghanaian journalism. Thanks
