If you know how power generation works, you will not be calling our President that name. He had power problem when the NPP was in power and until we are able to solve this problem as a country, it does not matter which party is in power.
There is something we call "regional power integration" in that, countries in a particular sub-region interconnect their power grids in such a way that they can supply each other in times of need.
This makes is possible that when one country is generating more power whilst the other is generating less due mostly to unforeseen circumstances, the one with surplus power can supply the one with less power.
If due to low water levels in our dam we cannot generate enough, there is nothing wrong getting some extra supply from our neighbours. It happens between some US states and Canadian Provinces. Even within the same country where power is generated by each state or province, they supply each other all the time.
By the way, Ghana should start thinking seriously about the low water level at Akosombo, that is, if we have not started doing so. With a hydro project on the river in Burkina Faso, there is bound to be low water levels down stream all the time.

The donkey cannot rule. With all the shortcomings of the k4 government, they still made enough provision for Ghana to be self sufficient in energy by now. Bui and all the neglected generators are more than adequate. Oil and gas prices are at their lowest level for years. This donkey president is stupid even for a donkey

It is said that while some districts pay high electricity tariffs others pay next to nothing. It is also said that within the same neighborhoods in the Accra/Tema Megapolis tariffs vary from house to house.
With three hydroelectric dams and at least two thermal plants do we still have to buy power from Cote D'Ivoire.

Hon Member, Hon Member for Tamale South, you may repeat what you said, I didn't hear you....hehehehe.
Mr. Speaker, Mr. Speaker between 1998 and 2000, a major and a very attractive campaign slogan by them in opposition was adumdum adumdum b3 gya3....hehehehe.
It was just to remind the gov't of the NPP that, my understanding of positive change is to keep your honour, that you promise the people of Ghana that if you got power, adumadum adumdum b3 gya3, the contrary has happened, so which in my view means that this was avoidable it's not just for this gov't. Mr. Speaker even a future NDC gov't which I'm very optimistic about in 2009, Mr. Speaker should have no excuse, should have no excuse in plunging this country into any darkness, because the opportunity exists whether hydro or thermal to assure the people of Ghana adequacy in the supply of electricity".....

Another there's no rain so there's no water in dam so.we can't generate electricity.what kind of nonsense is this. Are we kid in this country. What next are going to import for our sheer survival? We have so badly managed and squandered our basic existentially necessary natural resources that we have recently begun importing Wood, the very first time in our Nation's History. And now, we are importing Energy, something we used to be Exporting to the neighboring Countries like Togo and Benin.
What next are we going to import? Water? Possibly. If we look at how undetermined our leaders are to confront the underlying factors driving the scarcity, and even the dissipation, of our resources, we are in for a dire future where sheer survival needs would have to be sought for overseas.
We took many of these Natural Assets for granted and thought that we could just let them be misused by anyone who wanted to make bucks out of them. Now, our all-pervasive Corruption has been impeding any wise investment in projects that would protect or preserve the sustenability of these resources to us.
This is andictment of our Political leadership that has lacked vision for growth for years. It is time to shake the brains in the 'coconuts' of our Political leaders, and tell them that our survival does not depend on their vain popularity.
We need serious deep thinkers who understand it takes the whole population to build the Nation. It takes honesty and integrity to build Wealth for all. It takes empathy and simple fairness to mete deserving Justice to bring order and progress.
