If Thomas Sankara would have listened to reason and do away with his friend, he would have been alive today to see through all the good things he had started.

The leaders you mentioned were removed from power by the gun. Rawlings stepped down in 2000 and there have been four general elections after him. Why do you think despite the difficulties we have in Ghana other African countries still see the country as a role model? Nothing will happen to Rawlings. Better think about yourself.

Are you afraid of J.J. Rawlings? Limann should have dealt ruthlessly with Rawlings but you are afraid to say it. Say it loud and be free.

Are you suggesting that it is okay to have leaders who take law into their own hands? What are courts for? Are you ready to draw a conclusion that Africa as a whole is better off by being full of wicked leaders? Are you in bed with the way former president of Ghana, Rawlings got some of his men to abduct the three judges who were eventually killed? Are you drawing a conclusion that democracy is not good for Africa?

This statement by a so called Dr is just a reflection of his educational background. What do you expect from a semi literate, educated in a non democratic environment. He would acquire the taste off his mentors.

Please understand him.As a developing country you don't behave like a developed country. There are a lot of thieves and saboteurs who are killing the country. From the executives to the lazy legislatures, judiciary and to many public servants who are making us suffer. It will take a firm but brave and no-nonsense President to get things moving in their right path. That is why i am not happy with the type of democracy we are practising.

Do Ghanaians really want firm and fearless leaders? I think in 2008 and 2012 GhaNaians rejected Akufo Ado because he was said to be firm fearless and decisive. Ghanaians rather voted for humble, timid and christian Mills and later voted for young, approachable and pretty Mahama. I am confused. Where does the firmness and fearlessness come in?

In fact,i am so shocked by reading Dr. Danso's speech.First of all, i do not think that to be firm has anything to do with wickedness.I have always understood the meaning as resolute or unbending.Someone who stands sheepishly by his decision, unyielding to diverse opinions about his stance.Affirm conveys the same meaning.
Secondly,i am surprised that Dr. Danso is preaching wickedness in leadership. What differentiates a good leader from a bad one is KINDNESS.
A kind leader is able to bring everybody aboard for the attainment of the common objective or purpose.
Wickedness leads to dictatorship and wins enemies for the leader. The reason Dr. Nkrumah became a dictator and murdered Dr. Danquah and Obetsebi-Lamptey,and attempted to make the CPP the only political party which led to his overthrow in the 1966 coup.
Any wicked leader is an ignoramus. And a barbarian should they persecute their political opponents.
The most admired leaders are not known to have wicked as a cherished characteristic.
I have read about George Washington,Winston Churchill,Bill Clinton and have listened to speeches of some of the most notable men and women including Dr. Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. There was no hint of the word wicked associated with them.
Only low self-esteemed and vulnerable leaders become wicked.
I am confident that Dr.Kwame Nkrumah will continue to hold the title as the only Ghanaian president who embraced dictatorship.
Whilst i share the same opinion that the overthrow of Dr. Hilla Limann was irrelevant, one cannot attribute it to the demeanor of the president. It was more of failure by the state security apparatus to detect and prevent the overthrow of a constitutionally elected government by daydreaming soldiers who desire a shortcut to opulence in life.
Ghana has come of age.The quest to uproot all traces of backwardness in our country will continue unabated till we deal a devastating blow to it.
