  This morning there was a suspected case in Ghana and it took the hospital authorities over 3 hours to get one single protective gear from another town. By the time they had taken their holy time to sort themselves out at the hospital, the patient had died from some kind of hemorrhagic fever. Meanwhile unprotected nurses who took care of the victim were potentially exposed to contamination.
  
  To make matters worse, they say it will take 3 solid days to confirm whether the deceased really died from the Ebola virus.
  
  So, what, may I ask, Mr President Mahama, are the things that are picking up? Nothing seems to be happening as far as this Ebola thing is concerned.
  
  One does not get the feeling that the govt is taking sufficient precautionary measures. Its as if Ghana thinks that we are special people and the Ebola will never happen here in Ghana.
  
  The epidemic explosion of Cholera, which has many symptomatic similarities with Ebola, has passed over the 10,000 mark and I think the situation is worrying.

  It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...
