Do you people travel at all ? Who told you the economy internationally is OK. The Western world is controlling the economy in their favor, that is what the Chinese had managed to step over. What are we doing as Africans rather than always talking. I think if NDC is given the needed support and prayers, they can perform. The foreign currency stabilised over a fortnight ago and now it is coming down. SO there are signs of hope, let us all rally behind Ghana , but not any politcal party, fools.

Mr Terkpers understanding of this situation is quite defferent from mine.My lame manS understanding of this complex matter is that Mr Kwesi Botchway is leading the Ghanaian team to meeting with the IMF to discuss how best or how bad it would BE for Ghana in the long run for the Finance Minister Mr Terkper to sign the deccument as a substantive finance minister. The question is that, should difficulties begins to crop up after this loan who is to blame\.Is it Dr Botchway or SETH TERLPER? I SHOULD THINK SETH TERKPER IS FORCED TO PUT THE HANGMANS ROPE AROUND HIS NECK:WE ARE WAITING FOR POSTERITY:

We need a progressive policy. All adverts in Ghana must be created by wholly owned Ghanaian businesses and the songs and celebrities in the adverts must be wholly Ghanaian. The celebrities and musicians must receive royalties. All the wholly owned Ghanaian entities must use wholly owned Ghanaian banks like ADB.
We must move into the era of music/movies as a service (MAAS). At least 7 out of every 10 songs, movies and TV series played on our television stations, radio stations and entertainment centres must be wholly Ghanaian and must be produced in Ghana. These stations and entertainment centres must pay on a monthly or annual basis royalties to the Ghanaian artists. The amounts paid must be reasonable taking into consideration the profits of the entertainment establishments. However they must not pay any money whatsoever to the foreign artists because of the negative effect it would have on our GDP. The Ghanaian artists must use wholly owned Ghanaian banks like ADB. Many people can recall great shows like: Kukurantumi-road to Accra, Ultimate paradise, By the fireside, I told you so, things we do for love, Akan drama with osofo dadzie, obra and co, home sweet home, TV theatre, Dr Paa Bobo´s songs etc
There is lack of will and this must change.

In any prosperous state economic success runs on a simple basis or theory of "I will sell or give you what we have and use that money to buy what we need from you "
1. The state identifies countries or states where our consummable commodities and national needs are centered - forming our major trading partners. The state must pair these partners along a balanced supply against demand structure. For Example :
Countries A - GHC 1 billion
B GHC 2 billion
C GHC 4 billion
Our supply to country A must equal or exceed GHC 1 billion and where our demand falls short a surplus will go to savings against bebts and other commitments.
Our supply to Countries B and C must likewise follow the rule above.
How do we as a country create supply ?
1. Production:
- Manufacturing
2. Resources :
- Gold, Diamond, Oil, Gas, Timber, Cocoa etc
3. Services :
- Sale of Power to Countries
MANUFACTURING
Manufacturing is a key element in any structured economy without which dependency becomes the only substitute.
First look around you - anything you see can be transformed from solid material into shape or product, be it a table, car, hammer, cup , brake shoe , wheel , rim , television set, roof shingle or engine. Ask yourself what solid material can you use to transform into shape to obtain a cup , brake shoe or wheel. Plastic ? Steel ? Brass ? Iron ? Wood ? Ceramics ?
Having determined a suitable material for the product look for the cheapest way to obtain it in order to begin your manufacturing process.
EQUIPMENT
Manufacturing machines will be needed to cut the materials into shape. They range from Advanced CNC Mill/Turn or Lathe Machines to Grinders, Drills, Boring, Jig /Saws, and Welding machines. Some of these machines cost a fraction of what Wayome snatched from the Government a few months back.
PERSONNEL
The government can train boys and girls fo the following positions :
- CNC Programmers to study Solid Works, Pro Engineer, Cad/Cam, MasterCam, SmartCam, Fanuc
100 Manufacturing Engineers :
To design, test and standardize a chosen product - eg a wheel or shaft for a car.
- Design Engineers to use Solid Works, Pro/Engineer, TFlex, Catia, and SmartCam softwares. It takes an average of ten minutes to design a shaft or wheel of any complex nature using any of the softwares above.
200 ASSEMBLY AND QUALITY CONTROL PERSONNEL
To study critical measurements, component adjioning, metalurgy, product and end user specifications , inspection to meet ISO 300 requirements and welding.
100 SALES AND MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL :
To study shop management, sales, material orders, shipping, security, cost and human resources
LAND AND FACTORY BUILDINGS :
Use a government land as an industrial outlet outside the city for manufacturing purposes. Put up structures for such purposes.
A year from beginning of manufacture Ghana can proudly stand on its feet as an industrial giant and compete with any nation under this planet, and stop begging for loans.
It takes leadership . It takes deep thinkers within the government and Parliament. It takes commitment and strong sense of foreseeability. It does not take setting up of some bogus commissions by PHDS or some political nitwits with limited background knowledge of manufacturing process.
Begin Today !! I challenge the President and the entire Economic Team to try it ! Anything else is a waste of time, money, resources and exhibition of political savagery and ignorance.

RESOURCES :
Gold, Diamond
Order all companies in Ghana to report supervised earnings each quarter and compare them against royalties and where necessary revoke their license to operate. Enforce payment based upon current exchange rates or rising demands. Create Ghana owned companies to manage our own Gold. Re-examine contracts and eliminate cheats and lack of monitoring.
OIL :
Re-call the contract and redo it. It is generally believed that we are either being stupid or naive about the entire oil deal with these guys. There is no way our nation must accept the present situation. The nation is fed up with the concept of having millions of barrels of oil but reduced to begging to survive. I wished I were the President for one week this weakness would be a thing of the past !

Do not throw dust into our eyes. Can a politician not tell the truth? Are deception and blatant lies the definition of politics?Your so-called HOME GROWN policies are not working. Ghanaians have lost confidence in you as the finance minister, hence the unexpected appearance(SoS) of Dr. Botchwey.
Ghana needs a heavy injection of fresh CASH MONEY to stimulate the stalled economy, because the anticipated revenue from gold will not be forthcoming for a while due to the strengthening of the USD,and the rallying of our crude oil price will also be prolonged. The GDP growth rate will be affected since gold mining activities are a significant component.Again, the choking debt/GDP ratio will not permit us to borrow more money.
If the HOME GROWN policies are potent, then why go to the IMF?The country is broke. All the signs are on the horizon for everybody to see.
We do not need the approval of the IMF to run our economy UNTIL one messes up and is bailed out. That is the reason the Fund was set up.To offer BAILOUT to ailing economies so the disease will not infect the world economies and financial systems.
When we get to a situation where your veiled HOME GROWN policies are showing good results, the economic indices/indicators will be attractive and investors confidence will be generated, both domestic and foreign, and will translate into a booming economy with low unemployment, low inflation,a surplus balance of payment, enviable foreign exchange reserves, increased production,no dumsor,no water shortage,no filth in our cities and a strong banking system and stock market. And every Ghanaian who wants to swap currencies to diversify their portfolios,or protect the values of their investments, can freely do so without any hindrances/inhibitions/prohibitions from Dr. Kofi Wampah.
Ghana does not have to go panhandling.
Our abundant human and natural resources should give us a standard of living better than the situation of squalor that majority of Ghanaians find themselves in.
Ghana MUST develop now or never!
