There is no difference between Duncan-Williams and TB Joshua, they both operate in an atmosphere of ignorance and insert themselves in stories around the world and point at them as affirmation of some cockamamie prophecy they put out there prior to an event. Both have insatiable and inordinate need for legitimacy to cement their claim to holiness and divine blessings to cure all manner of diseases and intercede on behalf of the majority before God. If you listen to them long enough, you won't be wrong to assume that they have some supernatural telephonic relationship with God.

That fool, TB Joshua, will claim credit for any major event around the world but could not see one right under his nose, with the collapsing of his guest house building that has killed several people. Strangely, he did not see that coming but saw the impending disappearance of Malaysian Airlines over the ocean.

Only dimwits will lace up shoes and go and sit in the sermons of major fraudster, Duncan-Williams, at his church. He is a rascal crook, hoodwinking people for their money and dancing all the way to the bank.

I remember that turning point in my faith. I had just earned my first dollar and I went to a church meeting that night. The speaker was a missionary who told about his work. I knew that I only had a dollar bill and had to either give it all to God's work or nothing at all. So at that moment I decided to give my whole dollar to God. I believe that God blessed that decision, and that is why I am a rich man today."

By praying, it does not mean that there should not be monetary strategies by relevant authorities to ensure the cedi recovers. At least Duncan Williams is not the governor of the bank of Ghana or the finance minister or the president who has refused to do his job and instead has resorted to prayer only. He is a man of God and praying to God always is his profssional calling. In fact all christians are enjoined to pray without ceasing - this does not mean Christians should just pray without taking concrete efforts to solve their problems.
All true believers know that there is no problem on this earth which must not (or cannot) be taken to God in prayer. That is why it was proper for Christians to pray for the rains to fall to fill the Akosombo dam when the water level in the dam fell below the minimum level. That is why it was proper to pray for serial killing of women in the past to cease. Believers know that God is a real Being who is all powerful such that it takes His favour to make even the most brilliant strategy to succeed.
A typical example in the bible where both prayer and action worked in unison to achieve victory was when Joshua led the army of Israel to battle against the Amalekites. While the battle was raging on, the elderly ones, Moses, Aaron an Hur prayed ceaselessly ontop of a mountain. The result was a spectacular victory for Israel.
As a country, we need the God factor to be in our favour to succeed irrespective of who our president is.

It's unfortunate Duncan Williams doesn't seem to understand the economics of the current rise in the cedi. It is all because of the simple economic principle of demand and supply. The demand for the foreign currency now is low because importers are not importing for fear that they will lose their investment capital. They're holding on to their foreign currencies in their homes. This is only temporarily and when they decide to go out and import the cedi will start falling again. Go to the ports and you will notice that nothing is coming in. Duncans will eat up his words in no time.

Yes, the slow down in commercial activities in the ports is indication of the inflation cooling. Should this trend change and importers study the market and find it to be lucrative to bring in goods, believe you and me the cedi will see a big time fall. Pastors are enriching themselves from Tithing at the expense of their congregations. The law of the Tithe in Deuteronomy 14:22-29 has been skewed by pastors to rob the congregations. Christians must read the Bible, and study to understand the Word properly,and be guided by the Word, and stop pastors from fleecing them.
I've no doubt in my mind that if paying of Tithes is abolished in Ghana as part of the measures by the government to stop charlatan pastors from fleecing their congregations, a lot of pastors would abandon the Christian faith. A lot of pastors are holding the faith because of Tithes.
Obviously, the fall of the Cedi against the US Dollar has affected the beneficiaries of Tithing business in Christian congregations, and Duncan Williams has cause to be elated.

This is economics and not religious matters. The problems with Ghana’s economy are not spiritual but plain and simple BAD ECONOMIC POLICIES, FINANCIAL INDESCIPLINE, BAD GOVERANCE and MANAGEMENT. Therefore, the solution to Ghana’s worsen economy requires sound economic policies, good management and financial discipline to deal with Ghana’s worsen economic problems.
False prophets like Duncan Williams can fool the illiterate and semi -literate people but certainly not the educated people. The educated people are wiser to know that it was not Duncan Williams’s prayers or spiritual powers that the cedi is showing signs of recovery. Most Ghanaians are not fools to believe the nonsense coming out from the mouth of this man. We are all now fed up with these so called ‘men of God’. Every Christian must know that, apart from bad economic choices, there powers of darkness that are spiritually "pulling Ghana down", which manifests in the cedi not being able to favourably compete with other international currencies.
This spiritual attack can only be combated by "effective fervent prayer of the righteous”; and I believe that is what the Archbishop is talking about. No need disputing with him by any Bible-believing Christian. And spiritual things are spiritually discerned!
