Truth be told, if I were Asamoah Gyan, I would have answered the question in order to clear my name. Our society believes in these things and the more you dance around it, the more people proclaim you guilty. I don't believe Asamoah Gyan has any spiritual connection to his friend's death but you know what, I'm just one person out of a million.
On the other hand, no matter how infantile the question from the journalist seemed, he still has the right to ask any question in this dispensation of freedom of the press and speech. These are all the excess baggage of democracy.
You opt for democracy, you develop a large heart to accommodate all these add ons.

He is even very brave not to let this disturb his woodcut to perform in a national assignment like this. The journalist did not take into consideration national interest of the game, knowing very much that ghan is key to the success of the team. Come on... put on your thinking cap.
For someone to ask that type of question should tell you that the reporter, despite his so-called education, is still stuck in the dark ages and it looks like you are in the same boat as the reporter to believe that Gyan was to have answered that backward thinking question.
In this day age!!!! To have people still believing that somebody can "sacrifice" another human being in order for that person to be wealthy or rich captures in full glare the reasons why these 'awam' pastors and 'prophets' are having a field day defrauding gullible Ghanaians like you, of their hard earned money.
Sad to believe that these 'thieves'can point a finger at an innocent old woman of the family as a witch and the cause of an individual family member's imagined or self-inflicted real problems and , therefore, have this precious old woman killed or abused.
So you sit there in all your 'bushman-thinking' glory and sanction that, that fool of a reporter's question was justified, Kweku Atta?
You must be out of your "backward-thinking" mind.
The only problem I'll have with the senior Gyan's action was taking the law into his own hands but then again, since there was no course of redress for the Gyan family, maybe this action was justified. The Gyan family had been pushed against the wall and you know what happens when people get caught between a rock and a hard place...that is trapped in a sense... they come out swinging, all caution thrown out the window.

There was apparently nothing wrong with the question especially in the midst of unsubstantiated rumors about spiritualism involving Castro's death with Asamoah Gyan fingered.Asamoah Gyan obviously would have been hurt by a seemingly delicate question posed to him regarding the death of his closed pal. But some of us frankly think it was a fine opportunity to exonerate himself. On the other hand there is so much suspicion about the motive and conduct of some journalists in Ghana. One cannot vouch for their integrity when it comes to bribery and corruption. The journalist like the police and lawyers are an integral part of the justice system of every country. However there are outright crooks parading as journalists whose motive is to make money rather than ensure justice.Falsehood have been published against descent people in this country to cover up rot.Rot that is supposed to be exposed have been covered up by gagging up journalist with financial inducement and other incentives. My very good friend so vocal about serious illegalities and criminal acts causing lives in Effia Nkwanta Hospital was a victim of a set up in which a nurse was instigated to inflict serious bite injuries on him.He was subsequently accused of a mental illness by his superiors with multimedia specifically joy fm used as the chief portal to defame and destroy him.My friend was subsequently sacked by Ghana Health Service with a frivolous accusation of a mental illness just because he was against the rot.He took his case to the fast track high court. The GHS knowing it is not a case they can win tightly gag it up and in fact there were direct attempts on his life following the suit. Some of those journalists who published libelous stories against him now know the truth that he was a victim of criminal conspiracy in the GHS because of his anti-corruption stance but have chosen to remain selectively mute on his story. It is amazing people talk about press freedom being violated in Ghana. The media in the country is still state controlled and of course privately controlled by powerful business mongols.Down the social ladder the story is only heard when somebody in the media suffer abuse.Even when stories of public interest are published there is no follow up because of compromise through financial inducement etc. There is no violation of human rights than a doctor suffering bite injuries, implicated with a mental illness and subsequently sacked just because he opposed rot including selling of blood and illegal fee charging in a government institution. The attacks on the journalist though unfortunate is an indication of mistrust, suspicion and lost credibility by the conduct of some bad nuts amongst them.Until journalist show professionalism by delineating themselves from politics, nepotism and corruption the verdict is a poor prognosis in press freedom.

that stupidity press man could only do it to Gyan because the pressman himself is shallow minded and extremely moronic......he should be a journalist at all.........WAS HE TRAINED?????
Kenu was an idiot. His question wasn't only insensitive, it was the height of idiocy and ignorance. He was lucky he didn't receive a worse fate than just a few slaps from Asamoah Gyan's bro.
Do as nana Addo did period
Take the case to court? Are you sure? You know what happened to Nana Addo's case, in spite all evidence in favor of his case.
That is why he posed that idiotic question.
Is only in Ghana such unscrupulous, unprofessional insensitive and irresponsible bastard will be called a Journalist. I am surprise his employers are still maintaining him on the job.
But why do you think his employers hired him in the first place? It is a matter of dukadaya. Like father, like son.

What do you expect from an ewe man. His tribe thrives on superstition and vodoo/juju?

And this guy is a minister? He is rather irresponsible, and if he has nothing reasonable to contribute then I'd rather he zips up. He as deputy minister is basically supporting violence
Where in the story did you read that the Deputy Minister supported or condoned violence?
Who other than a stupid Ewe will ask that question? That motherfucker was chasing and taunting Asamoah Gyan, and blood being thicker than water, his brother reacted to that taunts.
Kenu is a typical ewe man's name and his brain if fixated on juju and superstition like his whole tribe.
