Nonsense.Akwesi Appiah received more from Ghanaians than any local coach in recent history. Ghanaians were tired of foreign coaches and welcomed Appiah with opened arms. Sometimes it seemed like he could do no wrong. Even when he sucked and it became apparent that he couldn't be a leader of men we supported him. Don't blame Ghanaians for Akwesi Appiah's ineptitude.
The guyhas always been such a great gentlemanbut he was way out of his depths as a coach. Good riddance.

First, Appiah lacks technicality of foot ball as a coach. He proved his inept during the world cup in Brazil.
Second, a Ghanaian coach must have Western life experience. Our players all live in Europe. Mind you they are young people with money to dispose at will. A Coach who can manage them must understand how to relate to young Ghanaians of Western "free speak your mind" attitude. These players cannot be treated as kids. They must be handled with respect and with cordial relationship. It is an insult in their eyes to accommodate them at a second tier hotel while the Coach and other Officials lodge at a top tier hotel. In other words, the Coach should be able to mingle with them and be able to communicate with them at their level while maintaining respect and order.

Akwasi Appiah did have such personal qualities. I will suggest a Coach in the person of, Abedi Pele, Tuffuo, Asamoah the Ghanaian/German national or Maseilli . A typical Ghanaian Coach will always fail to manage such characteristic players. Otherwise, the Coach should be a European (Oburoni).

Anyone who has followed Ghana football constantly for a long time would know that the guy could make it but never had a peaceful environment to operate. We are brainwashed. We think only a white coach can win cups for us. Ghana has not had a cup for so many years even after paying so much to these white coaches. We expected so much from the coach (Appia) within a short time without respect and support for him. Ghanains does not consder the resources they have (quality of players) and the quality of other teams. Can you imagine many Ghanains expected him to win the world cup with these crop of players we have. Some don't respect and others are not committed. Others don't even have regular play.Corrupt Gfa also created a bad atmosphere, which led to violence during the world cup but are now using Appia as the scape goat.
