THE LAST VOTING WAS NOT TO DETERMINE A WINNER. THE IDEA WAS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER FROM SEVEN TO FIVE THEREFORE ALL THE FIRST FIVE ARE WINNERS, THAT IS IF SOME ON EIS TO BE CALLED A WINNER.

An endorsement from Apraku would mean throwing his full weight of 10 votes to the cause of Akuffo-Addo.

Much as it may appear to be proportionally insignificant, in any election, 10 votes can go a long way to determine an overall winner.

Except for the possibility that The utterances from his Special Aide suggeststs that Apraku may be suffering from sour grapes or behaving like a sore loser - in other words. He would be best advised to throw his weight - even if only morally, behind Akuffo-Addo. Throwing his weight behind Kyeremateng would amount to nothing more than than issuing a dud cheque of endorsement to Kyeremateng.

As a political observer of a non NPP variety, I was probably as shocked as Apraku himself on learning that he got only 10 votes out of a possible 786 or so.

Weighing the pedigree and substance of all the NPP Presidential aspirants, I consider Apraku as the next most valuable contender after Akuffo-Adoo in the scheme of NPP presidential aspirants. He and incidentally, Bawumia, present the more sober, principled, committed and determined face of the next generation of more respectable political leadership in Ghana.

Apart from his ridiculous spasmodic American accent and a visible lack of political bravado, Apraku sounds suave, smooth, honest, serious, unflappable, earnest in speech and dependable to a fault.

In a way, Apraku reminds me of Dr Nduom of the PPP. They are both immensely qualified and fit the bill for the job, but yet, they are both unelectable by the terms of the non-serious, whimsical and idiosyncratic Ghanaian electorate.
