Whatever, the answer to your question is right on the ground: just visit any bank or Forex bureau and find out whether you can get the dollar trading at GHC3.03 or less as the BOG quotes. All are qoutes well above this figure ...

I also like IMANI a lot. I believe they are doing a fine job keeping the government on its toes but I disagree with them on this one. We all know this free fall of the cedi is a big problem which cannot be solved immediately. We all know the appetite for importation of foreign goods without any real meaningful economic structures is what's putting pressure on the cedi. To stabilize the cedi will take a long time and I see this Bog tactics as a means of putting some kind of brakes on the free fall. In any case I don't expect the Bog to follow the dictate of Black market and private bank's rate. It's never happen before and will never happen regardless of what party in power. Being realistic is healthy.

One need not be a Rocket Scientist to know the BoG and the Statistic Offfice are lying.The facts are everywhere in Ghana to see.Anybody who has something to do with forex knows the Dollar is going for almost GHC4,00.And we all know how every comodity from fuel,Electricity,Water,Transportation and the market prices have rising recently.So who is the Bank or the Government trying to fool.
Inflation is never under 20%like how the Government want us to believe.How can inflation be under 20%,whiles utilities prices has rising more 100% within a few months,without the corresponding increase in wages?
It is only NDC members or those who are being paid to say so,will come out and say inflation is under 20% in Ghana.
Even if we can`t read,we feel it in our daily lives,that prices are high.
