Kwame and Kumi,
Yes, it's just an assembly plant but you start from somewhere and move on from there...one step at a time. A thousand miles journey starts with the first step. Little drops of water makes a mighty ocean. This "it is just this, it is just that" mentally is why we do not develop.
This is a great initiative. If we all patronize it and govt judiciously supports it, he can start manufacturing the parts as well at some point in the future. So let's encourage it. That is how Japan, South Korea and China started.
Thanks

This is not "JUST". It is a HUGE plus for the Ghanaian economy and we must all support it, including the Government. We need to grow our economy by transforming it into an industrialized economy. This will not only help diversify the economy away from our dependency on the exports of raw natural resources of cocoa and minerals and of course oil; but it is only through such manufacturing industries that we can create rather more jobs especially for our teeming youth which are high paying and sustainable for many yeas.
Therefore we need many, many of such manufacturing industries. In fact, the assembly plant is for the short to medium term, but in the long term as they gain more experience, you will see the company manufacturing all the parts in Ghana as well.
Ghana should celebrate the efforts of Reverened Safo for this enormous break through.

I will grant the Safo's the benefit of any doubt, and wish they will. Hope Ghana Government and our neighbors on the continent will patronize this vehicle.
I will not hesitate however to insist that the management team should market this product in a 21st century fashion. Just go on line and use the standards of marketing and selling a new vehicle with price tag and all, and we will come, we will drive, and we will make you Dr Safo proud.
We will also lobby government to purchase from you where necessary, not only for buying sake, but for specific purposes. Please do not sell to government when they need off road vehicles and you know that your product cannot satisfy such a demand.
Do not allow government to influence your high standards and accountability. We the people will support you beyond this achievement.
Again, I grant you the benefit of this publication. Be blessed!

Gerard, know that most assembly plants around the globe import or buy their parts from manufacturers and put their vehicles together by their technicians of different trade. One very area of concern is the test crash which you raised. I think with Safo Jnr. as CEO, he will look for people with expertise in all field of car making, conduct crash tests and make their dreams come true.
Presently leading car manufacturing companies, sometimes make mistakes and correct them. As a young company, they will face such problems, but with dedication they will prevail. Ghanaians need to patronize in Kantanka's line of vehicles.

Where are our engineers from KNUST? You can learn a lot from Rev. Safo. Your curriculum needs to be more application oriented or practical instead of all those theories you keep memorizing year in and year out. Engineers should be leading our industrial transformation and therefore should spend more time getting their hands dirty instead of dreaming about wearing suits and ties after graduation. Please change your mindsets so you can contribute better in the coming era of Ghana's industrialization. In so doing you stand to MAKE, CREATE, INNOVATE AND BUILD things that contribute to the grow of the economy and at the same time creating enormous wealth for many engineers.

Kudos to the Apostle. But my concern lies in the transmission of large volumes of electric power over long distances. I think, greater part of the nations power problems will be solved if a machine or an equipment could be invented which can transmit volumes of electricity over long distances from the point of production to the consumer without cables, just like how the mobile phone transmit sound , pictures and data from one end to the other. This will reduce the huge power loss incurred during power transmission, aside of the problem of illegal connection activities perpetrated by consumers with the connivance of meter readers from E C G.This will mean that consumers will have to buy credit to charge their appliances and power will start flowing to their homes for use.A miniature form of that equipment can even be used in electric vehicles, trains etc. So Apostle over to you.

If the vehicle engine and the transmission are built by Kantanka then it's a step in the right direction. That's how Japan and GM motors started. The other parts can be imported because of economic of scale and cost.
May God grant you more wisdom,,and help you raise up the flag of Ghana very high,i am very happy to see apostles vehicles on market, may God guide you, apostle,
How much does the pick-up go for? because I need one very seriously.
I think we have been sleeping all this time to know that Gottlieb Daimler invented his high-speed four-stroke gasoline vehicle in the year 1883. Later he teamed with Carl Benz and their suceess has been never unending. I was ...

Not taking anything away from the 'Kantanka' warriors, I wish to thank all the respondents of this article for thinking Ghana and not the partisan politics of this 'gospel'. God bless our nation and more good "disciples".
Well done Kantanka, try teaming up with neoplan and Kumasi magazine boys.
Ghanaians, we should be happy and proud to drive our own cars made by black man and a Ghanaian for that matter, and to prove to the world that it was our ancestors who recorded the ENUOMA ELIS (ENUOMA ESI)
well done katanka
Do we as a nation appreciate the rigorous tests that are carried out before cars are certified for use? Which state institution has carried out any tests on these cars? What is wrong with us as a people?
Opia you have a point there. For safety reasons to drivers and pedestrians rigorous tests have to be made before these cars could roam the streets of Ghana!
This guy is a key to our industralization
NPP will force him to sell almost all the shares to only NPP members. Why did the NPP not help him when Kuffuor was in power? It is only the CPP whose policy of self-reliance will help him achieve his aim to the full.
Ghana government would buy a lot of the cars but would not pay. Mr. Safo Jnr, this is pure business. Do not sell to the government on financing basis. The government would run the company down.
Meanwhile, bravo. I love your ...
