Ashantigold have hinted they could pull out of the impending GHALCA top four tournaments over lack of sponsorship package.
The annual mini tournament is set to kick start on August 27 but monetary issues seem to threaten its commencement.
The miners are guided by past records and do not want to incur unnecessary debt, sounding a note of caution they will pull out if organizers fail to attract sponsors.
“We have started training ahead of the upcoming season and not primarily because of the GHALCA Top 4? spokesman Kofi Yawson told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
“The club has officially notified GHALCA that we will not waste our time, energy and resources to travel up and down to compete in the tournament if they fail to secure sponsorships for the tourney”.
“And so I can state confidently that Ashgold will pull out of the Top 4 if there is no sponsorship for the competition to enable the clubs gets something to cut down on our cost whiles we play, because we cannot just wake up and travel to play a competition just because we love football, no.”
The organizing body is struggling to solicit for financial support, just days before the pre-season tournament zoom into action.
