Before Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah introduced free education in 1962 the majority of school were run by the churches which take fees from pupil and students at all level. Children whose parent could not afford to pay school fees were left out of the formal education system.
The fact is that the church is in education to make profit from pupil and students, that was the reason whey in 20012 they were advocating for perpetual stay in the class room by the Ghanaian child.
In 1962 there was a move by the CPP government to reduce the time a child is to spent in the class room. In Lebanon and some countries it takes 5 years to produce a medical doctor in Ghana it take 7 years. Yet some of the lecturers at our medical institutions were educated at the same institutions with their Lebanese counterparts.
The Presbyterian Church in Ghana owes allegiance to its mother church in Germany and as a matter of fact protect the socioeconomic interest of Germany. One will say that since Kwame claim to be a communist, then invariably he owes allegiance to the communist party elsewhere. That is not true because I was at a time refused scholarship to the Soviet Union because I defended the interest of Ghana and a Ghanaian when the Soviet Communist Party was then ruling in the Soviet Union.
It is also most unfortunate that the clergy come out always to tell us that they and the church represent sanity in society. However they forget that they supported and still support all oppressive system against man from inquisition, apartheid to neocolonialism.
It is a fact that I as a communist a communist from another country can not force me or even tell me to fight for the interest of his country against mine. In the communist party there is no junior country in the world to be treated with disdain as the U.S. did to African countries recently. We communist do not preach moral we preach life, man is man's brother, keeper and helper. We do not chase demons nor put fear into anybody.
When dying we say all our life and strength has been spend for the benefit of mankind and not gods and demons. The ultimate aim of Ghana's 1992 Constitution is free and compulsory education at all levels and I do not see how an institution that's interest is in commercializing education can fill into that. When commercializing education deprive the poor from accessing education which to us communist is undemocratic, and I am of the view that to Rev. Dr. Frimpong Manso, that is also a sin. So why do a person institutionalize a sin.

It is not the establishment of Schools that is failing in Ghana. It is the running of them that is the trouble. And I cannot see how all our Educational Institutions could thrive under Christian Churches. We cannot, and should not, go back to the archaic Colonial, Missionary Institutional control where all Schools were of one denomination or another.
The Public Institutions concept works all around the World. It is only corruption that is killing them. If the Churches could do a better job to instil high moral principles among their congregations, that would go a long way in keeping the integrity of our ruling elites high enoug to ensure the success of those Institutions they manage.
Let the Pastor enjoy the nostalgia of Missions controlling our Education. But that is a thing of the past. Any existing Mission School operates under the same Governmental guidelines for running all Educational Institutions. And that must continue. The only thing that needs to change is the quality of the character of our Politicians and Educational Directors who control the subventions to the Schools. Our Laws in Ghana are blatantly ignored by those folks with impunity. Should the necessary punitive measures be allowed to work, we would see less of the Public Schools fail. Good Managers with high integrity could even manage to produce quality Students under financial stress.
Long Live Ghana!!!

I think Ghanaians must be more discerning that this. When Nana Konadu set up the kindergartens, many a Ghanaian criticized her only for them to turn round to set up their own. the fact is that some Ghanaians can not set their petty jealousy to admiration and support. I believe most people criticizing this 200 secondary idea have planned to set up their own as their retirement plans and are scared that this idea is taking the wind out of their sail. they must think Globally. Ghana is a potential hub for academic activity in west Africa. This social democratic party is only increasing access to education which is a right of every Ghanaian Child. I would urge the churches to start their own schools from the scratch. and give the Government institutions a good open and honest competition in terms in terms of quality of products churned out.

In Africa , the church has been the daen of cunning thiefs who are a lot of bounch of lazy people leading a folck of sheeps as i want to put it because they are made to know and believe it is only after death that one has life. FOOLs i want to call all those who believe in such foolishness when the pastor is living heahty as a richman in society.
The church must shut up and ret to reform from encouraging corruption in society because it is the only place that the poor is made to feel he or she is poor.
If the church can do as they say they are best in they must go for a loan to do thier own thing after they want to prove they are the best in the field.
Did the church not doubt this program from the NDC, in the first place?
this is the hyporisy of our cheures in Africa.
