It looks like competence is ot a yardstick for our go ernment officials. We may cope with the many "student" ministers but the Bank of Ghana is so sensitive an area to experiment with Dr. Wampah. He is just not getting anything right. Why is the president keeping him there? Mr. President, the Wampah guy is not n top of his job and the longer he stays in office, the worse the economy gets and the more difficult your job as a president becomes. Just fire him and let a competent person do the job. If things are done right, the pressure on you will ease so you can creatively lead the country Sir. With all due respect, get the right people around you and you will be fine.

Wampah is no dumber than the rest of them. Set aside the idiotic blamegames and focus on the economic realities and how they can be fixed in practice.

My brothers NPP doing all sort of none sence just to push NDC out of power. They went to court they fail so they must find any other means, that's what we are all seeing.

I work very hard outside open a foreign account in Ghana for the purpose of transfering my earnings in dollars. For most part of the year, this money is sitting in my account, the manager loans it out to importers and makes his profit. However when I come back home and need part of my money I am given cedies far less than its real value? what do ou think I would do? Close my foreign account, deprieve the bank and the country access to my hard earned dollars, which I can bring along with me any time I visit the country. This is the simple strategy adopted by people who were caught in this predicament as a result of the unfriendly and unjust regulations introduced by BOG. You see, no one toils for another to enjoy. People are smarter than they are often thought of.

There has never been an occasion where an army has been blamed for a defeat at war. It is always the general who is blamed and rightly so. In this case who appointed Wampa? Hold the appointing authority to task Alhaji Bature and stop dancing around the issue. Anybody who knows Wampa at BoG knew he was never going to be a good governor. Check his background. Apart from the PHD he holds, there is nothing solid behind him. Yet Mahama went ahead to appoint him for political expediency(to appease the Volta Region)A governor who has lost two major policy battles is not fit to be allowed to get near the Bank of Ghana building let alone be the governor. It is like a general who has lost two battles and still keeping his command post. It can only be in Ghana where anything is possible. Are you now surprised that the cedi is performing magic? tweaaaaa.

Stop the idiotic political blame games and look at the real root causes: The Ghanaian behaviour and attitude: LAZINESS AND INDISCIPLINE. If we prefer foreign goods than our own and we spend more than we earn, what do you expect??? There is no level Economic knowledge that can solve this problem. This is basic, first principle: WORK HARD, PRODUCE MORE, EXPORT MORE, BUY MADE IN GHANA and we will not be in this situation. COMMONSENSE and ECONOMICS.
Think!!! why do we spend hard earn foreign exchange to import used/second hand clothing (OFOOS)????
THINK!THINK!! and THINK!!! again. Don't be a SHEEP.

What about John Mahama? The trio are equally blamable for our self-inflicted economic woes.
I am very confident that until recently, there was no interaction between the government and the governor.I can substantiate this. When the GHC started depreciating and the BoG sold a paltry $30 million, with additional $100 million dollars on the
Forex market to sooth excessive demand for the USD,the then minister of trade was waiting for the formation of a committee on international trade before he could respond to the distressed GHC.At an SOS period which called for SPONTANEOUS coordination of fiscal and monetary policies to significantly reduce or eliminate the excess demand on the GHC.
Dr.Wampah is still not conversant with the functioning of the Forex market. The restriction of foreign exchange accounts to import/export transactions and high commission/embassies incoming transfers is also a bogus policy.
Ghanaians cannot look on hopelessly whilst their GHC-denominated investments lose their values with the speed of lightning. It should be possible for one to protect the value of their GHC-denominated investments through currency swaps of their choice.
