settle this issue and get his project going. I wish the land is given to a private firm rather as Gov. is not good entrepreneur. Why don't Gov. acquire the land and then lease it to private firm to farm rice on it?

Smartly said. The government cannot even construct drainage systems properly in the 21st century and yet it wants to run banks and other businesses. The people running the government are bureaucrats and not entrepreneurs.

Compensation and Land use at Battor
Battor is a deprived rural area and suffers from inequality and poverty.
The land is the only thing the people have; the farmers must be compensated directly by Gov in acquisition of their plots of land in order not to deepen poverty and inequality in the area.
Further, Gov should lease the land to competent industrial complex developers to ensure a balanced development of the area and the people.
No good making home-grown politics out of the people's land and quality of life.
Gov must be seen governing and not ruling the people of Battor for the common good.

Why is government undertaking another rice project in Aveyime when it already has one right next door which in the name of Prairie Volta Limited, which it is failing to support?
This makes no sense especially when Prairie VOlta is already in production with 700 hectares and is looking for funding to expand the farm to 6,000 hectares or more through a mix of out-growers and direct farming so that it can feed the existing 60,000 tonne rice mill at Aveyime.
This is simply duplication of effort and a misguided project. Government should first ensure the success of the existing project before embarking on a new one.
