Is he simply trying to sell his name? Why is God used this way?
The Bible says at John 5:31-45: "If I testify about myself my testimony is not valid...I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the very work that the Father has given me to finish and which I am doing testifies that the Father has sent me..."
If Joshua has the Spirit of God let his spiritual work testify for him. He should personally stop talking. Joshua, what are you doing? Be humble and truthful and careful in your walk with God. For God is not an idol. Be sure that you have His firm word before you act on it. But first of all check your motives carefully. For God does not walk with the crooked otherwise He will promote Crookedness.

They never talked about the result beforehand: They feared God. To walk with God powerfully is not fun and boasting. It calls for wisdom, fearing God to begin with. If a man of God boasted like Elijah did, he had firm instructions from God. You wouldn't even call that a boast. It was God personally revealing Himself to mankind through him; he was simply God's instrument. One does a great disservice to God by trying to do things in His name when He has not directly instructed him: when he does things out of selfish motives. A man of God who has been really touched by God will know the difference between things of his own imagination and things from God. How can one know of a difference if there's no other side of a coin?

Event in the days of our Lord Jesus Christ, he did not impose healing and deliverance on any body. People were healed and delivered by Jesus accordingly to their level of faith. One case worth mentioning is the woman who was cured from bleeding by just touching the garment of Jesus. God does not impose his miracle on unprepared mind. By faith we receive from God and not by pride. Let us allow the prophet to do what God has ordained him to do. The fact that you do not believe God or his prophet does not change the fact that God can heal any kind of sickness using any medium.
