Ghana's Economy is recovering after the arrest of Money 'Launderer' KESSBEN was arrested for stealing dollars out of Ghana causing the value of the cedi to drop. Other 'Launderers' who through their wicked and backward actions to launder money out of Ghana have equally been arrested as their main agenda was to make GHANA UNGOVERNABLE.
But the whole cause of the economic bubble in Ghana was from the Maladministration of the Kufuor's Government after he looted the old cedi.
But ardent Ghanaian Economist have predicted a humongous increase in value of the cedi against major currencies in the last quarter of the fiscal period. Ghana therefore does not need any bail out from the IMF as some 'AGAINST MEDIA' would want others to believe.

This whole thing about money laundering was all brought about to protect American businesses like Western Union and their banks, and it's all bullcrap, and the stupid African leaders have harped onto it like goats being led at the end of a rope to be slaughtered. What is wrong with someone sending money to their family through a Ghanaian shipper who will give me a better rate and charges me no fees to boot? I promote the Ghanaian businessman to grow his business, and the profit he makes is eventually sent home to develop Ghana. How much profits that Western Union and the other American Banks make go to develop Ghana? Zero.

Oh NO Dr. Amoa, I simply disagree with some portions of your comments.
You can essentially say that key movements may have been done in cases of KUFOUR and partly that of Dictator Kwame Nkrumah.
Given this scenario, Murderer Rawlings does NOT come into the equation or scenario for STOP.
y assessment of this situation is that, both Murderer Rawlings Rawlings and Dictator Kwame Nkrumah belonged to the same Political League; in that both never believed in POLITICAL ELECTIONS, BUT DICTATORSHIP AND TORMENTS.
There were very many Ghanaians in the Dictator Nkrumah's Regime, including former Finance Minister under Kufour, HON. J.H.Mensah who were privy to the Dictator's SEVEN YEAR-DEVELOPMENT PLAN for Ghana.
But the Dictator thought the vast amount of money left by the Colonial Master could NEVER run out, even though we had to dispense MILLIONS of POUNDS to both GUINEA and MALI for their Independence.
Apart from that, the Dictator stood tall for the struggle against APARTHEID ( WHICH I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH)but did drained our meagre resources, simply because there was NOT a single growth in the Economy.
It was all because the Dictator kept raining INSULTS on the Colonial Masters as being THIEFS AND DEVILS when of course he himself was directing most of our Gold Bars to EGYPT to sustain his Families and children, Including Sekou and Samira(sp)Nkrumah.
As for Murderer Rawlings, he was simply an IDIOT who couldn't even pay for his own borrowed Yoko-Garri and thought the fact he had been refused a promotion to Pakistan, he could use that to topple a Democratically elected Government of Hilla Limann.
The remnants of Dictator Nkrumah and his CPP felt that the 1966 Coup was orchestrated by AKANS and urged Murderer Rawlings to make an ETHNIC CLEANSING OF US AKANS.
This is a son of a PROSTITUTE WHO HAD COME FROM TOGO TO ENJOY OUR GHANAIAN HOSPITALITY. We eventually were told that his father was a Scottish, thus making him to delegate Kofi Ahowi to research his Scottish Background, during one of the Comm
nwealth Games during his misrule.
A dullard (Murderer) who failed all his Papers from Achimota that came to turn the days of the good Ghanaians into nights.
During his epoch, most of us in the diaspora who detested both the late, Ronald Reagan of United States and Margaret Thatcher of United Kingdom had to swallow our prides to make deals with them to enforce Democracy in Ghana, because we couldn't cut our nose just to spite our face.
In all that our gallant men in Ghana, such as Nana Akuffo-Addo, Kweku Baako and many others led demonstrations from one corner to the other to end that Dictatorship of this AYIGBE SON OF A PROSTITUTE.
Of course Kufour was forced to join briefly in his government, because this Murderer had decreed that "anyone who refuses to join his Murderous Revolution would be SHOT.
Our nation Ghana was going for very soft loans on International Market as little as $25,000. Money we all easily put on our Credit Cards these days.
Kufour and his NPP Team came to meet challenges that had been left by the THIEVERY NDC GOVERNMENT. One of the most important elements was to plug and unplug the thousands of ghost names on the Payroll.
The fact is, Challenges are what we meet in both life and Politics. And without Challenges you can NEVER HAVE CHANGES. Therefore you have to endure it.
The other aspect is WISHES. Here I say, we can Never WISH what we all want IN LIFE, but we can most LIKELY GET WHAT WE WORK FOR.
Unfortunately, this NDC THIEVERY and UNPATRIOTRIC GOVERNMENT UNDER DULLARD MAHAMA HAS COMPLETELY DASHED THE HOPES AND ASPIRATIONS OF LEGITIMATE GHANAIANS.
They have targeted AKAN BUSINESSES and her peoples for the ECONOMIC DISASTERS CREATED BY THE SAME NDC THIEVERY GOVERNMENTS.
Now they want us to be part of the solution to solve this Economic impasse they have created.
I say to them; GET FUCKED!!!!!! YOU CATS AND DOGS, GET ON WITH IT.
Best Regards,

Because of our impatient nature, we Ghanaians have always refused to sacrifice even for a few months when the going get tough. Perhaps due the socialistic tendencies in the country starting way back from Nkrumah's time, we have been inclined to look to the Government to give us our jobs, health care, education, infrastructure etc. - virtually everything. It is therefore no surprise that Ghanaians I general, especially the educated ones, favor Government work more than making attempts to venture into their own micro and small businesses. Most of us have also abandoned farm work in the rural areas. We have expected our Government (with limited resources)to shoulder all this burden even as our population has increased. This, my friends, is not sustainable for any country even the advanced ones. Our politicians know very well about these Ghanaian qualities. Therefore, in order for the Government of the day to retain power, they spend so much time and money preparing our 5 year National development plan only for them to be put on the shelves. They try their best to run the economy by solving the short-term problems. The end result is that the fundamentals required for real economic growth is never tacked well and remain on sinking ground. This explains the booms and burst we have been witnessing over the years with the economy.
SOLUTION:
As Ghanaians we should understand that we can develop our economy only through the development of the PRIVATE SECTOR - those micro, small and medium size (the mom and pop)businesses. We need to create millions and millions of these type of businesses in the country. The private sector is not the Government. It is YOU and ME. The individual Ghanaians.
We should not expect the Government to provide all the businesses, infrastructure and other social amenities with its limited resources.
The role of Government is to provide conducive environment for the private sector or businesses to thrive better.
I implore our men and women especially those living in the cities and big towns to change our attitudes and try their hands on our own small businesses. We should also trust one another and form partnerships to create medium size businesses. If most of us are making, creating and innovating things, we would be transforming our economy into an industrial/ manufacturing and service economy where the jobs are with higher wages and more sustainable. Let's change our attitudes and start now to come up with new business ideas which we will take to the bank and seek financing to bring them to fruition. The Government alone cannot handle the huge unemployment problem. Check where you are living now. Find out what you can make, create or innovate in the country that can be sold to others and you have a business. (NOTE THE WORDS ARE MAKE, CREATE AND INNOVATE & NOT BUY AND SELL). The first step is the hardest but take some risks and start something and you will realize that help will come your way.
A lot of our youth do not want to go into farming. Therefore we need to introduce mechanized farming in order to increase productivity on the same acre of land for food security and exports. Our Agricultural Engineering colleges at Legon, KNUST, Cape Coast etc. must stop those theoretical programs and start to design and help manufacture these farm implements - ploughs, harvesters etc. and irrigation systems to make this possible. We can start with not so sophisticated machines but simple home grown ones as the Indians have done.
If we play our part, we will give our Government the space to carry out the medium to long term development goals including strengthening of our Government institutions, infrastructure, social, regulations, rule of law etc. which normally take longer period to implement but will help us to build our economy on solid rock which will be rather more sustainable.

In fact that is exactly my point. The Government's role is not to run private businesses. The Government is NOT GOOD at it. The GEEDA, SUBA should be run as commercial ventures instead of leaving them in the hands of Government. If more and more people start running successful businesses, Government will not meddle in such ventures any more. Remember the role of Government then will be to provide the enabling environment for the GEEDAas, SUBAs etc. to become successful.
That is why there is the need to transform our economy into and INDUSTRIAL AND SERVICE economy. This transformation will require the hands of more of us individual Ghanaians on board or on deck to make that happen. Why you do not want to TAKE RISK OR SACRIFICE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF YOUR OWN COUNTRY?

What is the Kufour legacy Ghanaian and other Nationals always refer to?
Is it adding four zeros to the cedi and made it looked stronger than the US Dollar that propelled Ghana into Lower Middle Income Country without necessary infrastructures to support it? We all know at the time that it was an artificial middle income status and not a real one and this is where it has brought us today.
I do not see anything wrong going back to IMF for support to build the necessary infrastructures for economic take off.

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man is a book written by John Perkins and published in 2004. It provides Perkins' account of his career with consulting firm Chas. T. Main in Boston. Before employment with the firm, he interviewed for a job with the National Security Agency (NSA). Perkins claims that this interview effectively constituted an independent screening which led to his subsequent hiring by Einar Greve,[1] a member of the firm (and alleged NSA liaison) to become a self-described "economic hit man".According to Perkins, he began writing Confessions of an Economic Hit Man in the 1980s, but "threats or bribes always convinced [him] to stop."
According to his book, Perkins' function was to convince the political and financial leadership of underdeveloped countries to accept enormous development loans from institutions like the World Bank and USAID. Saddled with debts they could not hope to pay, those countries were forced to acquiesce to political pressure from the United States on a variety of issues. Perkins argues in his book that developing nations were effectively neutralized politically, had their wealth gaps driven wider and economies crippled in the long run. In this capacity Perkins recounts his meetings with some prominent individuals, including Graham Greene and Omar Torrijos. Perkins describes the role of an EHM as follows:
“
Economic hit men (EHMs) are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign "aid" organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools included fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization.
”
The epilogue to the 2006 edition provides a rebuttal to the current move by the G8 nations to forgive Third World debt. Perkins charges that the proposed conditions for this debt forgiveness require countries to privatise their health, education, electric, water and other public services. Those countries would also have to discontinue subsidies and trade restrictions that support local business, but accept the continued subsidization of certain G8 businesses by the US and other G8 countries, and the erection of trade barriers on imports that threaten G8 industries.
In the book, Perkins repeatedly denies the existence of a "conspiracy." Instead, Perkins carefully discusses the role of corporatocracy.[2] – November 4, 2004 interview
“
I was initially recruited while I was in business school back in the late sixties by the National Security Agency, the nation’s largest and least understood spy organization; but ultimately I worked for private corporations. The first real economic hit man was back in the early 1950s, Kermit Roosevelt, Jr., the grandson of Teddy, who overthrew the government of Iran, a democratically elected government, Mossadegh’s government who was Time‘s magazine person of the year; and he was so successful at doing this without any bloodshed—well, there was a little bloodshed, but no military intervention, just spending millions of dollars and replaced Mossadegh with the Shah of Iran. At that point, we understood that this idea of economic hit man was an extremely good one. We didn’t have to worry about the threat of war with Russia when we did it this way. The problem with that was that Roosevelt was a C.I.A. agent. He was a government employee. Had he been caught, we would have been in a lot of trouble. It would have been very embarrassing. So, at that point, the decision was made to use organizations like the C.I.A. and the N.S.A. to recruit potential economic hit men like me and then send us to work for private consulting companies, engineering firms, construction companies, so that if we were caught, there would be no connection with the government.

Ghana under John Mahama and NDC government is running the countrys economy with hope and no planning.
IMF and EU are the very people who is making ghana suffer. Until John Mahama sign ghana away to the European Union thinking ghana will be Partners with the Union.
Why cant ghana be the partner instead EU is made the partner.
Ghanaians didnt the trade deal, ghanaians dont know what John Mahama have just done to ghana, 40 years to slave for the very people we were suppose to have had independence from.
Ibn Chamba who was representing ghana in drafting a trade agreement was dropped or
sacked by John Mahama with the advice of Hanah Tetteh.
The very IMF forced ghana to pay back money the country needed badly. Now they have taken their money and ghana is in debt, they want to give ghana a loan again. If ghana didnt listen to IMF and EU we would be where we are now. Suffering and confused.
Govt is not talking about Chineans loads again because EU has promise to John Mahama their will give ghana money to farm and feed EU.
Ghana dont need loans from any group of people, we need good government. Why should ghana be paying more on interest on Loans that the EU countries. How can anybody be a partner with somebody or countries where you dont have the same needs.
Ghana dont really need anything from EU, ghana should be able to trade with any country ghana likes. With partnership its always the partner first. EU will control ghanaians trade for forty years sign by John Mahama and covering it up by using ECOWAS Office.
If John Mahama and Hannah Tetteh were proud leaders they would have come out and tell ghanaians forty years will EU be controlling ghana trade. EU will decide what and who ghana can trade.
John Mahama is a shame and a betrayer of ghanaians.

According to Lloyd Amoah's assessmemt we have landed at where we were during Rawlings'time, when the economy was almost collapsing before asking for a bailout from IMF. Ironically this situation crops up under Jerry and his NDC all the time. All efforts of the past have gone to waste and anyone who takes over has a myriad of problems to attend to.We have all been witnesses of corruption and fraudulent cases, but while some see the need to question and punish the culprits, supporter of NDC see nothing wrong with what is going on.The question that baffles most people is that, if you suspect that you husband or wife is misappropriating the family income will you not question him or her?.With this government of Mahama and his suporters it is the usual adage of hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil. The result is where we find ourselves now, between the devil and the deep blue sea.Dr Bawumia warned long ago that this was going to happen in the second half of this year ( IMF bailout) and instead of being asked to explain, he was met with all sorts of insults. When are we going to put on our thinking caps folks?.

Acheampong nearly send ghana to bankruptcy, through his self relance and operation feed yourself policies, few were those who knew and could understand , the western economic blockus and their determination to controle by all means ghana's economy ! This bastard Jerry Rawlings would not know nor even understand, so he broke every law in his hate to kill transforming this hate to a so called revolution! Promising hopes and a better future to the many idiots who lack understandings. Almost 35years latter, what are the impacts of his adventure? The legacy of a corrupt nation ,where the economy is run like a military expenditure. The creation of free-will armed robbers, politician mafiocies, who steal by the laws in the shadows of judgement debts. Self -made heroes and self- acclaimed stars of all sort, and especially in the musical front , with idiots like Shatta Wale, a nigger , with jamaican noise, his Bull -dogs! to frame an economy shattered in bones. Ghana is experiencing , a real economic set- back ever since its independence, and all because of a Jerry rawling, a self- made utopist, whose hates everything that is ghana without him ! We use to hear him , roar his hate and anger, evengelising in every corridor! Accountability and transparency, only to withdraw back to his shell ,after obtaining 4billion dollars in judgement debt, through Nana Konadu ! A brave soldier in the name of col. Felli was shot by a firing squared through the hateful orders of Jerry Rawlings, for borrowing 50,000 Cedis, because once upon a time , it was a crime by death to obtain a loan !So mr Hate , why is your wife still alive ? Why is Woyome condemned to refund states money, and why do you have indemnity clause? John Jerry Rawlings is a thief and a buglar? AND SUCH AN IDIOT COULD NEVER REDEEM GHANA FROM ECONOMIC CHAOS !, and not any party that came to existance from his hatred. Ghana's economy will be rebuilt once again by our natives, our men of thoughts, in trustworthy and with pride, destroying the pilars of his hate , annointed in oath with 4th June 1979 , by this truant of all times, ANIMGUASE EFIHENE, john Jerry Rawlings or whatever stupid name !

Rogue general divides Libyans Why is Libya lawless? Guide to the militias A Royal Navy survey ship is evacuating Britons from Libya amid worsening violence in the country, the BBC understands.
People are being taken to HMS Enterprise as it awaits offshore.
The Foreign Office previously urged British people to leave the country immediately and is temporarily closing its embassy in the Libyan capital.
The MoD said the government was helping to "provide assisted departure for a number of UK nationals".
'Hundreds of Britons'
Some 108 people have registered to leave on board the ship. Not all of those registered are British - they are are said to include two Irish citizens and one German - and they are not thought to be diplomats.
The Enterprise is expected to set off for Malta - once everyone arrives on board.
Its departure is not considered a rescue mission as there are still commercial means to leave Libya.
A petrol depot set ablaze in Tripoli A petrol depot was set on fire after fighting between rival groups near the airport in Tripoli The country has been gripped by instability and a power struggle among rival groups since the overthrow of former leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
Fighting between rival militias - one established by the outgoing parliament and one controlled by the defence ministry - has spread northwards in the capital in recent days.
More than 200 people have been killed in Tripoli and the eastern city of Benghazi in the past two weeks.
The British embassy in Triploi is to suspend its operations on Monday, after which the remaining staff are to leave. It is relocating to neighbouring Tunisia for the time being.
BBC political correspondent Chris Mason said: "I'm told the number of British nationals in the country is not huge - it is in the hundreds, rather than the thousands. Commercial routes to leave the country are still open.
"The Foreign Office has already announced that it will suspend the operations of its embassy in Tripoli after fighting in the capital intensified, including near the embassy building itself.
"But I'm told staff at the embassy are yet to leave - as they have been supervising the evacuation of those Britons who want to leave."
'Assisted departure'
British ambassador to Libya Michael Aron has described the situation as "very sad" and said staff would return to the embassy "as soon as security allows".
Michael Aron in Tripoli on June 4 British ambassador Michael Aron said the decision to leave had been taken "reluctantly" It is thought there are between 100 and 300 Britons still in Libya.
In a statement, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) said: "As the FCO has made clear, the UK Government will provide assisted departure for a number of UK nationals before suspending consular operations on Monday.
"For operational reasons we will not discuss further details including whether, and in what ways, the MoD could support these efforts."
The Foreign Office has said a limited number of commercial flights are still leaving Libya but warned flight schedules could change without notice.
On Wednesday, British Airways suspended flights to and from Tripoli up to and including 5 August because of the security situation at the country's main international airport.
Land routes also remain open but the Foreign Office said "the security situation can change very quickly".

"Mark Asibey-Yeboah, economic spokesman for the main opposition New Patriotic Party, welcomed the move as a step in the right direction to calming the economy, but he warned that austerity measures could inflict hardship on ordinary Ghanaians.
"It will come with conditions that will demand that the government adopt additional measures to fight inflation. They will also demand a freeze on wages," he said. "But in all, the benefits will still outweigh the downside, so it's a step in the right direction."

Our country is broke.Ghana is like a poor man who is daydreaming about living in a mansion one day,but does not have the wherewithal to bring his dream into reality.
John Mahama and the NDC government are daydreaming about a Better Ghana. But the financial resources are not available.
With poor credit rating why would you not be compelled to issue a GHC400 million bond with GHC300 million interest payment?A cut throat bond! They are desperate and panicky.
We need money.Let's go to the IMF for assistance. After all, they have already pushed most of the IMF conditions
down our throat.Going to the Fund will only reinforce their policies.
Money from the IMF can buy them some time to wait for the anticipated increases in the prices of cocoa, gold and crude oil.Whilst they work on speedy programs to increase our exports to generate more foreign exchange.
