Far from being deeply involved in real banking activities at the BNY,he headed only an obscure internal communications unit comprising no more than 4 or 5 reporting charges! Beside, his section was slated to be eliminated,when the bank embarked on a massive restructuring exercise and moved many of its operations from Wall Street,and relocated in upstate NY! Thus,the line about giving up a lucrative a six-figure international banking position to help the NPP,is simply a hoax and a bunch of hogwash!
The only thing 'legit' about the man is his style of dressing,with his 'vintage' bow tie. There was nothing spectacular about the early morning commute he made from Jersey City(NJ) to downtown NYC;trust me.
I have deliberately focused on what Art K calls "trivia" to make this observation:And that is the existence of this vocal group of youngsters,[I call the 'New Young Turks',who having chosen to align themselves to certain individuals within the NPP,give the impression that such an association alone,makes their bona fides[as members of the NPP], far more superior than others! These young people,who know or ought to know better, by dint of their level of education and training,and thus to be committed promoting tolerance and fair play in this country,are the very ones creating all the rancor and chaos,not only in the NPP, but within the entire polity!
Look, this is a complete turn off for those of us born and raised in the party, whose families suffered tremendous hardships,when many of these "german-pikins" were not even born!
Enough of this nonsense of tagging sincere and honest people like Kennedy,who place this nation`s interest first

He mentioned that one of the main problems for the current situations is the re-denomination of our "Gye Nyame" currency, for reasons best known to former president Kufour. No sooner had he finished than the NPP and its supporters jumped on him, subjected him to every unimaginable thing on earth, and even wished him death. Interestingly, it did not take those who were calling him names, to come back to their lost sense and agree with him that indeed, Kufour´s unwarranted redenominations of the "Gye Nyame" is to blame for it´s depreciating at this alarming pace.

Oman Ba Pa, the sad fact is that the Akufo-Addo faction is ignoring the real underlying causes for his loss in 2012 Elections, and with intimidation and insults, rejecting anyone who dares insist that it pays closer attention to those causes.

The claim of that group's to the support of a certain bunch of intellectuals seems to convince its members that it is the only source of victory for the NPP in the 2016 Elections, and that anyone posing an internal opposition to Akufo-Addo must be trashed and discarded of.

However, I, and many others I have learnt from, recognize, for instance, that there is a hefty mass of sentimental perturbation among many non-Akans, that was derived from Akufo-Addo's infamous bigoted "Yen Akanfo de.." comment prior to the 2012 Elections and still poses a great threat to his quest for the Presidency. I have again and again entreated his camp to address that hang-over of resentment among the non-Akans for that attitude of his. But that earnest appeal has been persistently and insultingly rejected.

What many of those Akufo-Addo folks fail to recognize is that Akufo-Addo can never win the Elections in 2016 without the help of some of these non-Akans in greater numbers than in the previous Elections. The faction's members also seem to underate the impact of that comment among the non-Akans. The few leading non-Akans, like Dr. Bawumia, who that faction has solicited to campaign with it are seen only as window dressing to the faction's image, among these worried fellow Citizens.

The Economy has its place in the decision to choose a leader for the country. But ultimately, folks prefer their humanity to be recognized first and above the Economy's crunch on them. After all, what guarantees do the non-Akans have with that faction that they would be fairly included in any reversal of fortunes for the Country, should Akufo-Addo be helped to win the Elections?

By the way, if Agyarko's piece that he so energetically thrust upon the forum was not trivial and petty, how could you characterize this poignant response to that from Dr. Kennedy as "petty"?

Meanwhile, Alan did not just come out of the blue to assert the facts that prompted Agyarko's disingenious article on this medium. Alan was compelled to defend himself by the incessant attacks on him by the Agyarko's clique that he and former President Kufuor betrayed Akufo-Addo and failed to help Nana's campaign efforts in 2008 and 2012.

So, if you had any good advice for anyone to abstain from pettiness, it should have first gone to the Agyarkos, and maybe, Mr. Agyarko would have chosen a direct personal contact with Alan to settle the confusion in private.

Rather, Agyarko chose this Public Forum to disparage Alan, calling him a liar, and more. And you want Alan or anyone with some relevant facts to hold brief for him to shut up?

It is very sad that your comments play into the hands of anti-NPP folks who accuse the Party's rank and file of intolerance and steeping in group-think mentality.

We all know how badly your ilk trounced Dr. Arthur Kennedy for the book he wrote on what he considered to have caused the NPP's loss in the last Elections.

You may have been part of the same group that verbally assaulted Drs. Nyaho-Tamakloe, Wireko-Brobbey, Frimpong Boateng, and Mr. Kwame Pianim, among many others, for daring to question the viability of Akufo-Addo's candidacy this time around.

The simple truth is that you cannot bulldoze your way to victory with Nana Addo. You need the cooperation of all NPP members and more to ensure that. So, what is the wisdom in antagonizing the very folks your victory significantly partly depend on?

Arthur Kennedy did not insult Agyarko in this piece. He only refuted, with pertinent facts, the latter's claims in his article about Alan. Yet, here you and Kanawu are with these insulting comments at him.

If anyone is accused in Public for something he or she did not do, it is only proper that the person uses the same forum to defend himself or herself. Period!

It all comes down to Kennedy's closing comments which call for unity and amicable resolution of internal conflicts to facilitate victory for the NPP. That does not mean there should not be any democratic contest for the Flagbearership. Alan and the rest of the candidates reserve the right to contest for the position and therefore deserve just as much respect as you accord Akufo-Addo, even if you won't vote for them. Nana has no exclusive divine right to the Party's Flagbearership, and his election for that role must be by the magnanimity and voluntary support of the Electorate in that Party, by coercion.

It seems many of the folks we are talking about care more for what they might get directly from Nana's win, given that he is regarded as the NPP's fore-runner in the primaries, than what needs be done to hold the Party together and carry it all the way for the general good of the Nation.

Raw emotions, as you indicate, are often likely to sour the entire competition, and scare off many a more competent contestant.

If the NPP wants to keep the image of being the bastion of Ghana's democratic governance, the Akufo-Addo faction must refrain from the intimidation tactics and unwarranted name-calling and insults they have been casting around.

What I find disturbing among some of the comments is the language they use. please, people if you can't contribute intelligently and dispassionately, spare us the insults. What I found from the article is that, the information he shared, and supported by dates and specific incidents makes him credible. if someone has something on the contrary, let him/her also provide them and people can make their own judgment. These insults won't cut it. Can we all do one thing? Take a time out or a truce on the insults and see what happens when we comment intelligently.

They must sick down and accuse one another thinking power will come to them in 2016. We are getting very disappointed and am not sure whether NPP is ready to take power come 2016.

If you believe so, then the next question you should be asking your leaders is that why did they allow the NDC to rig the elections when we claim we have the intellectuals? Nana was the leader and so far I've not heard anything from him that assures me that he has answers to these questions. Instead of asking your leaders these questions you're just insulting. It is about time that we demanded accountability from our leaders. No Nana no vote slogan is very childish and would come from individuals who refuse to think. We cannot afford to lose this time around and who ever wants to lead us should be made to work and come up with strategies that will secure the victory for the party.

What again was he expecting from the 2012 election campaign? Didn't Arthur Kennedy know that his lacklustre performance was one of the factors that led to the downfall of Npp and Nana Akuffo Addo?
With this in mind it was laughable to hear Arthur Kennedy prior to the 2012 election suggesting that the party hierarchy should have sat down and ponder over reasons for its 2008 defeat.
Since Arthur Kennedy's performance in that election campaign was one of the reasons, that is why he was sidelined as he alluded in his write up. Opportunists like Alan and Arthur K should never think they can fool the party all the time. The grassroot is wide awake now. I rest my case.

The delusion has set in again, and the NPP thinks that, the way and manner the Mahama led NDC gov't has messed up the country so badly, it's going to be a cool chop, so every tom, dick and harry feels it's a done deal should they win the flagbearership of the NPP.
If anything at all, the 2016 is going to be the toughest election to win by the NPP, and it gets harder by the minute, by the hour and by the day.
And with the missiles flying let, right and center, the loss of the 2016 elections by the NPP is all but sealed, if this childish back and forth continues by those so called elders, who should know a lot better than what they are putting out there. The 2016 elections is fast slipping away and with this bickering and infighting, whoever wins the flagbearership does not stand a dog's chance against the NDC party with it's rigging machine, ability to come together for winning elections, ability to put every shoulder to the wheel to win elections and even to the extent of engineering the greatest political feat of shirking the support of it's Founder, and still winning the elections of 2012 by hook or crook.
The NDC party's inability to govern and manage the country is cast in the proverbial stone, however their ability to win elections by hook or crook is unmatched and it would do the NPP a lot of good to spend precious time and resources to beat that by hook or crook winning machinery of the NDC party, than this needless, unwarranted and childish bickering that does not add anything to the fortunes of the NPP.
The 2016 elections is the toughest elections yet and from all indications, the NPP has set in motion their own loss and it is a scary thought. Hopefully, they would put serious breaks on this slide lest they completely bury any chances of a decent win in 2016, because it is going to be a very, very tough election and it is for the NDC party to lose, with the posturing of the NPP.

I believe that it is best for all if the contest for NPP flagbearer is run without insults. And may the best/better man win.

I have read the above article times over and all the 80 comments at the time I was putting my two cent idea. What I find disturbing among some of the comments are that, either some of the people misread the article or lost the import of the piece, or had their own biases against the author, that regardless of what he says, people had their own negative opinion about him. in our social and political discourse we must try to tone down the emotional attachments we put in our comments. calling people all kinds of names and making innuendoes about contributors is dangerous to critical thinking. I do not expect everybody to agree with either Mr. Boakye Agyarko or Dr. Kennedy, but calling them names clearly shows our level of engaging in intellectual discussion. The author, Arthur K, as he is affectionately called, advanced his arguments with supporting data by showing dates and places of specific events. What else could he have done to make him credible? People talk about him working for the NDC. Dr Kwesi Nduom served in the Kufour government even though he was a CPP man.Kufour served in the Rawlighs's government. Does that make them defectors or traitors of their Political parties? In closing, I would like to remind some people that Kennedy is an accomplished person in his professional career. He does not need any political party in Ghana, be it NPP NDC, PFP, CZY, or what have you to advance his career. None of these political parties takes care of him in his present situation and I don't see a situation where Kennedy will become a 'hangers-on' as some people rely on their parties for a living. Thank you.

Corruption from all the evidence available in the country, is regarded as the number one threat and singular factor militating against Ghana's quest and drive to achieve positive growth and development that reflects in the life of Ghanaians from all walks of life. Indeed, the leader of the military junta of the P(NDC) who rode on the back of mass disaffection amongst the populace on the issue of corruption and looting at the time, and had as it's tenets; probity and accountability has been asked severally to speak to the current crisis of unmitigated corruption and looting of his own creation ie the NDC party which is in gov't led by John Mahama.
The question I would like to pose to Alan K is how does he intend tackling this issue since some in the NPP have alleged that he could be corrupt? The same question goes to Nana Addo. How does he intend to tackle this issue of corruption against the backdrop of his own purported incorruptibility and the fact that he cannot be corrupted?
For a voter who thinks that the country Ghana has ground to a screching halt as a result of the unbridled, humonguous and unrepentant penchant for looting, corruption and thievery by the Mahama led NDC gov't, the answer to this question should address my concerns as to who is the most credible, confident and prepared to address this canker head-on, should they win the elections in 2016.
