  Wikipedia is updated by anybody who feels like creating, adding, or deleting pages. Ghanaian celebrities who are there probably created the pages themselves or had the pages built for them. There is no person at a wiki office somewhere updating records on Ghanaians. Whatever is provided there constitute what the so called celebrities wanted to share about themselves. Ask Samini why he doesn't have his picture or whatever is missing over there. When you finish reading this, may be you should go create your own page; now you should understand why scholars don't use wikipedia!

  No these celebrities didn't create their profiles themselves. Something that is Notable to a certain degree deserves a place on Wikipedia. Volunteers in Ghana (planningwikimediaghana.blogspot.com/p/about-us.html) and around the globe contribute to these profiles.
  
  Who are you telling to ask Samini? Stop sitting in a corner somewhere and throwing up flames on the internet.
  
  When you say scholars don;t use Wikipedia, what do you mean? It's on in Ghana that you have been brain washed. There is no higher institution better than ones in the western world who have added Wikipedia editing to their academic calenders. Go google "Wikipedia Education Program".   For her information, everybody is their own editor on Wiki ie your write about yourself or when you cannot for some reason, tell someone to write about yourself on Wiki.

  For her information, everybody is their own editor on Wiki ie your write about yourself or when you cannot for some reason, tell someone to write about yourself on Wiki.
  
  Therefore, there is nothing peculiar being on Wiki.
  
  As a matter of fact, I can go to Wiki and make any changes to all that has been written about the artists because the whole content is OPEN to the entire wolrd. The only thing is that the Wiki system records the unique IP address of whoever edits.
  
  Moreover previous content is not overriden but stored alongside the current one.

  Yes you are right anyone writes on Wikipedia even you can. But note that there are restless volunteers like myself who tries hard to keep the mess some people put up to make Wikipedia a better place.

  From what I just read, excuse to say (and that's the fact) you don't have any knowledge the Wiki system works or how Wikipedia works from the contributors/editors perspective. You're talking as a reader. Which is a very bad writing habit.
  
  Before you write about a subject you should try and understand at least the basic concepts that are involved from all views NOT just yours or what people say.
  
  It would have been good you talked to folks at planningwikimediaghana.blogspot.com/p/about-us.html who can tell you more about how things work on Wikipedia.
