Unable to perform its core[not court]mandate of producing power for use by residential and commercial customers,veer off into into such nebulous areas as education,healthcare,and real estate development and mgmt? My question is this: Who is VRA trying to kid by 'play games',and continuing to hold on to these entities through an arms length arrangement? Would their profitability or otherwise,still not impact on the bottom line of its annual balance sheet? This is a 'crazy' financial arrangement which is going to incur more outlays for basically the same results! Govt should force the VRA to prune itself of all the top-heavy mgmt personnel,and instead get it to hire more of our young unemployed engineering graduates to work on the deplorable power generation problem this country faces!

At last the fire is burning, institutions are finding out they need to contain cost and reduce waste and also concentrate on their core duty which is generation of electricity. These schools and hospitals all need to be in private hands charging their full commercial rates with some rebate for the VRA staff if those institution deems its fit for their competitive urge. Then every staff member at the VRA is paid is consolidated salary At that point the VRA staff members will decide if to take their kids to those schools or hospital or to other surrounding institutions. That is the only way development and efficiency stays high. I know some Ghanaians will not agree with me but the truth is how in developed countries institutions are managed.
