    The Railway Workers Union must understand that strike action will not solve the problems they have raised. They must discuss these problems with management and help deal with them. They cannot hold the nation to ransom.

    The union should negotiate with management rather than go on strike.

    The expected outcome is to sort out the problems facing the railways.
