What I dont understand is, what have these NGO's been doing all along to sensitize and mobilize public sentiments against this sell-out of our people? A few statements here and there in isolated media outlets which dont go far enough is not and has not been good enough.
Coming out so strongly against this evil plot to recolonize West Africa after the evil deed has been done, helps no one.
And by the way, which of the NGOs were the ones who are against this move? Where do they get their funding from? I am really suspicious if their intentions are crocodile tears or genuine tears of sorrow.

There are some specific fields that we lack the needed expertise. To solve this problem the government of Ghana has over the decades made scholarships available for Ghanaians to study abroad in these fields. In some instances several people have been sent and not even one of them has returned. If you know very well that you are not prepared to live and work in this country and would therefore not return do not take these scholarships.
The Takoradi Poly Students who were sacked for applying with fake certificates must be prosecuted in a court of competent jurisdiction. Just sacking them is not enough.
Nowadays businesses and government organisations have stopped demanding Secondary School Certificate or Basic Education Certificate.
Each of these certificates are important. For example for many tertiary graduates the only certificate that can tell whether one can speak good English or whether one has adequate knowledge of Mathematics is the Secondary School Certificate.
Similarly the only certificate that can tell whether a tertiary graduate has basic knowledge of Ghanaian history, culture, agriculture and the basic geography of West Africa is the Basic Education Certificate.

Real EPA should Restructure African economies
"The EU supplies a large part of the equipment that contributes to the economic growth and development in the region. European annual exports are worth approximately €30 billion. West African exports towards the EU account for €42 billion. The agreement should increase this figure even more in favour of our African partners"
The result is no restructuring of the African economies and the deficits of Africa will be perpetuated.
This is the biggest financial risk Africa has signed with the EU.
That is the real value of EPA
The alternative EPA should increase measurable EU direct investment in Africa: that will contribute to creating significant employment and development in Africa.

EPA smacks geopolitical practice of using capitalism, business globalization, and cultural imperialism to influence third world countries in lieu of indirect political control. African countries must have control of their destiny, able to consume what we produce. Late Dan Lartey termed it DOMESTICATION. If EPA were a good thing to go by, why are still restriction on movement of people from ACP countries to EU. This agreement contradicts President Mahama preaching of producing and consuming local goods.
