HELPLESSNESS, HOPELESSNESS & FEELING OF DESPONDENCY HAS GRIPPED MANY IN GHANA TODAY.
GHANA HAS BEEN RAPED BY THESE NDC IDIOTS. WE DO NOT NEED ANY NATIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM, WE NEED A NATIONAL COURT OF JURISDICTION TO PUT MAHAMA AND HIS CABINET ON TRIAL. GHANA'S HOPELESS ECONOMIC SITUATION, TODAY, IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. NDC HAS OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS PRESIDED OVER THE BIGGEST RESOURCES IN OUR HISTORY INCLUDING CRUDE OIL & STEALTH TAXES. THEY HAVE ALSO CONTRACTED THE BIGGEST LOANS IN OUR HISTORY. IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THIS AND THE ECONOMY IS IN SHAMBLES, THEN,THEY MUST BE PROSECUTED. THEY MUST GIVE THE MONEYS BACK TO THE TREASURY. WE DO NOT NEED ANY ECONOMIC FORUM. SET UP A COURT IMMEDIATELY. IT HAPPENED IN THAILAND RECENTLY, PRIME MINISTER YINGLUCK SHINAWATRA WAS REMOVED BY THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT FOR ABUSING POWER. LOOK AT GHANA, EMBRAER PLANE SCANDAL, STX KOREA, US$20 BILLION NDC PARTY HQ., US$4 MILLION JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENT TO MRS. RAWLINGS, SUBAH, GYEEDA, WOYOMI, ISOFOTON, WATERVILLE, AFRICA AUTOMOBILE, CP, SADA, FORTIZ/MERCHANT BANK, AKONFEM AND A HOST OF OTHER DODGY JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENTS. BUYING VOTES WITH CASH, LAND CRUISERS & LAPTOPS JUST TO WIN ELECTIONS. WHY NDC?????? WHY??? OUR SUPREME COURT COULD NOT HELP BUT DESCRIBED IT AS "ALLIANCE TO CREATE, LOOT AND SHARE" WHAT A SHAME? ?? AND YOU CALLING GHANAIANS TO A WASTEFUL ECONOMIC FORUM. NDC, THE MONEY IS WITH YOU, GIVE IT BACK TO GHANA. NPP, I SALUTE YOUR COURAGE FOR NOT ATTENDING. NPP REMAIN SMART AND VIGILANT!!!!

If you have work for them, I believe many will jump at the offer. The system was already working in the US before you went there. You did not create the system. The students in Ghana cannot create the US system either.

Why do some section of the people feel that the government owe them some money for going to school to learn a trade? Monetary allowances for nursing and teacher trainees were priviledges started by kwame Nkrumah after independence in 1957 in order to run a freshly independent country which had no manpower at that time. It has oulived its usefulness. It it amazing that the government is still babysitting students at the expense of the whole nation, that it now feels obligated to go foe a world bank loans in order to supply menstrual pads to students. Do you all see why the country is in a big hole running billions of dollars in deficits in order to babysit a nation that feels entitled to everything? This yoke must be removed, else the country will drown or suffocate under her won weight.

The Takoradi Poly Students who were sacked for applying with fake certificates must be prosecuted in a court of competent jurisdiction. Just sacking them is not enough.
Nowadays businesses and government organisations have stopped demanding Secondary School Certificate or Basic Education Certificate.
Each of these certificates are important. For example for many tertiary graduates the only certificate that can tell whether one can speak good English or whether one has adequate knowledge of Mathematics is the Secondary School Certificate.
Similarly the only certificate that can tell whether a tertiary graduate has basic knowledge of Ghanaian history, culture, agriculture and the basic geography of West Africa is the Basic Education Certificate.

Two years ago when the trainee nurses and midwives were offered admissions to the various training institutions,it was indicated in their letters that they will be given allowance. These trainee nurses and midwives are not only studying in class rooms, but they virtually have no vacations as they always go for practicals in the various hospitals including night duties, doing the dirtiest jobs. They are also exposed to all kinds of infectious diseases. When they fall sick and attend to the hospital they pay like any person. The allowances would help in their daily transportation and just to buy food whilst at work. If we can mobilized thousands of dollars for hundreds of supporters to Brazil for just few days, why can't we mobilize few cedis for these poor trainee nurses and midwives who are rendering critical service to mother Ghana. Please let us not be political. The question is, where lies our priority as a nation? blow away millions of dollars on players and officials who do not actually need money or poor and hungry students who just need transportation and kenkey (food) to enable them contribute to save lives in our hospitals? what about the millionium goal 4 and 5 we are struggling to achieve as a nation? PLEASE SOMEONE SHOULD BE SENSITVE TO THEIR PLIENT

Sorry but I don't agree with you on this. Most of us went through 'hell" to complete our education on borrowed money. We still don't even have jobs after our university degrees. These student-nurses are guaranteed jobs upon completion of their training but they still feel that they are entiled to some freebies at the expense of the nation. Any nation built on entitlements is bound to fail. Our tax base is not strong enough to accommodate this. I agree with you that our priorities as a nation is totally out of whack. We have a redundant workforce with no measurable productivity. Teachers Unions, Doctors Unions Polytechnic lecturers, professors and almost everybody is hitting the street threatening to bring down the government if they are not given sufficient money. Where the hell do you all think the money is coming from? The government cannot increase taxes because only 5% of the population pay taxes, and they are already taxed to the bone. Folks, let's be realistic here and know that something has to give. This government is corrupt and blowing away millions of dollars but this is just a minute fraction of our fundamental problems. I say let the government cut this crap out of the system, else the nation will never prosper. I am neither an NDC or NPP sympathizer but rather a concerned free-voting citizen of Ghana.

I do not want want to be political as i said earlier. we are wasting too much money and if the politicians were not corrupt as you said, given small allowances to these trainee nurses who are working anyway would not have negatively affected our country the way it is now.

Essential services workers must behave responsibly. Apart from nurses, which trainee of other professions in other fields get allowance from Government? Use your brains and stop being unruly and focus on dialogue

All students in the US will either get a loan or pay your own. What kind of behavior is that?
And you don't know why Ghana is broke.
The Western countries will always prosper in everything they do, because they are wise and know the value of money, and use it when necessary.
Trainee. Nurses don't pay taxes, yet they want allowances. Ghana Gov iIs not an ATM Machine.
