Ayigbe tribalism breeds a total disrespect for the law , justice and human rights talk less of freedoms of any kind . even the constitution and its indemnity clause facilitate the fact that some remain above the law

Ghana is an uncivilized country. Most educated Ghanaians don't understand the rehabilitative aspect of imprisonment, they only think about the punitive part. They think that a prison should be a hell on earth. In fact most educated Ghanaians think that it is ok if a person dies in prison. being sent to prison in Ghana is tantamount to being sentence to death.

Imprisonment in Germany is surely not like "heaven on earth", but as 'tuy' has written, it shouldn't be made like "hell on earth", either.
In many Ghanaian prisons, the inmates are still often denied basic medical attention when they get sick from the unhygienic accommodation and lack of food.
A man from our neighbouring village, who had received a 4-years-sentence, has just very recently died in Kumasi detention.
Five days ago, a totally drunken Ghanaian "Kia"-driver has nearly killed my wife by speeding (at the station) into our car, which was parked there, while my wife was loading her market-purchases into our car. She jumped aside at the last moment, and he only hit the car.
His wife begged my wife not to send him to court, because, according to her, "in prison, he would die". They had to go to the police station, because the taxi drivers at the station called the police and even tried to beat the drunken man. Even the police officer at the police station, who was very angry at the drunken driver, did not wish to send him to court/prison, because of the obvious faer that prison in Ghana often means death. We let the man sign a paper with the police officer as witness, to pay to repair the damage on the car (which he has by now done, and we have forgiven him).
While probably most Police officers and Wardens in Ghana are fine and compassionate, it also doesn't seem a rare occurrence that total neglect, indifference, even malevolence and torture come to pass, encouraged by the ideology that 'tuy' has described.
At least, just yesterday I have read about and seen photos of one Issah Mobila here on ghanaweb, who was tortured to death in police custody.
(Charcoal Seller:
Apart from sneering, does your comment have any content and reasonable intent?
Has "tuy" implied to be "non-Ghanaian"?
Or are you implying, a Ghanaian shouldn't point out domestic problems?)

Mr Alifo is correct. I have recently been informed of a case of a certain Mr Sinusi who was reported to be involved in a murder case in Hamile in the Upper West region about 20 years ago. He is reported to have been jailed first in Hamile and now in prison in Kumasi all on remand. This is possibly guilty but how can he be allowed to be in remand for all this time. Rumours have it that his documents have been dumped. I will like to use this medium to appeal to Mr Alifo, Amnesty International and all well meaning persons to investigate this case and cases like that and get them justice.

People power is the only thing that will change Ghana. Put the country in a stand still every weekend until government listens to the peoples. There's no consumer protection. They build microwave transmitters in school premises without regard for the health of the children. I will dearly like to know if there has been increase in cancer patients in Ghana, a decease that is foreign to Africans unless in contact with microwave or electromagnetic radiations. These constructions in your neighborhood must be pulled down otherwise our children will contract leukemia and the adults will get lung cancer! Peoples in Ghana must wake up to what corruption is doing to the everyday life of the people!
