Corruption everywhere=Tell your boss former Minister of Tourism, Zita Sabah Okaikoi who was initially penciled to become Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, going to the Czech Republic that the media are going to meet her upon her return from America for trying to sell Ghana Supply Commission property at Ridge for GHS 80,000.00 for less than its value to FIRST BANK and commissioned an a valuer to value the same property for GHS 79,000.00.
Meanwhile, Four properties belonging to the company was charged for Ghs 4000.00 by a GENUINE valuer.
She had also refused to hand over CEO duties to the new person appointed by the president of Ghana, hence all production are stand still until whenever SHE returns and chooses to handover. How can one person HIJACK a whole Ghanaian company? It is SELFISH or what?
How can this person be fit to represent and serve mother Ghana at the Czech Republic when she is just so incompetent vindictive and milking Ghanaian taxpayers money without accountability. From what we hear she just want to collapse Ghana Supply Company.
May be Zita should leave the government job and run her Z Bar Restaurant and lounge business. PERIOD.

Whether we get the information about crops breeding through oral report or through written report, it is not important. What is important is we have to seriously think about what our country decide to do GMOs. Ladies and gentlemen we have to seriously think about how we are going to produce enough food to feed our children in the future.
Do we have to go back to our villages to grow our own food or we have to stay in our towns and cities and eat GMO food? It is time to think about how Ghana is going to get plenty of food to put on the table to feed our children, considering the fact that many of us think that GMO food is not safe to eat. what is our politicians saying?
Will this be a hot topic in the next elections?

What are you talking about?
GMOs don't add to food security,
instead they raise the Farmer's and the Nation's dependance on foreign forces.
There are plenty of natural ways to increase yields and reduce the workloads of farmers: see e.g. "EVERGREEN AGRICULTURE" (for the Northern Regions), "AFRICAN BREADFRUIT REVOLUTION" (for the South and transitional Zone), MUCUNA BEANS (Dua Appiah) & PidgeonPeas (as nitrogen-fixating groundcover and weed-suppressant - i.e. IMPROVED FALLOW without "Slash and Burn"), VETIVER-SYSTEM (against erosion, especially on sloping terrain).
GMO-cultivation is not sustainable, especially in tropical regions. It only leads to degradation of soils, super-weeds, pathogen-resistances, dependance on foreign synthetic fertilizer and pesticide-manufacturers and external seed-producers.
GMOs lower farmer's overall income,
while the above-mentioned methods can mean 280% increase of yields for small-scale farmers and yields raised to the high standards of tropical East Asia, even without synthetic fertilzers, for Farmers (large and small) in general.
The above-mentioned methods, e.g. Evergreen Agriculture are endorsed e.g. by the United Nation's agricultural experts and sincere and experienced NON-PROFIT-Organisations, while GMOs are lobbied for by multi-billion-dollar Profit-Maximisation-Corporations.
It's only because politicians usually know next to nothing about farming-research-progress that they can be manipulated by lobbying groups into contemplating such bills.

Alexander III, you are certainly right with your views on Green Agriculture and how it can boost agricultural production in the tropics; my problems is if this is even endorsed by the UN, and other NGOs, then why is this form of sustainable green agriculture not being promoted to boost food security in our tropical world? Why is experts like you not making your views known to our farmers?

Well, in this case I'll resort to the New Testament, that is clear about the still overly powerful role of money in our current reality and who/what is currently ruling our world.
So, irrespective of personal beliefs, what I want to say is, that obviously big money rules the world, and not with pure well-intent, but only to further it's own power.
That is not just a religious view, it is the current paradigm taught in economy: the maximisation of profit.
Of course quite contrarily to what the corporations' Public Relations (PR) departments like to make believe, i.e. that they were philanthropic and huge donators and foremost tried to improve agriculture.
You can still read in every basic and standard economy-book, that maximisation of profit and minimisation of expenses is the utmost maxim.
As long as the ruling mindset in human societies is competition rather than cooperation, pure values like TRUTH and WISDOM and BROTHERLINESS cannot be expected to come to reign.
But we are not totally defenseless, because we can in our own lives set examples to show applicated alternatives as good as we can - that is what I'm trying to achieve in life, for example by setting up a demonstrational farm at the moment and by overcoming overly selfish desires and redeeming crude faults with my own personality.
True Information shared between two is doubled - quite contrary to physical objects, which are halved if shared between two (e.g., a cake)! So there is a possibility to successfully start practising constructive cooperation.
Here's the UN Ambassador about "Evergreen Agriculture" for example:

The PR, and thus major public attention, is where the money is.
And there's no money for third parties (corporations) in e.g. Evergreen Agriculture.
Greatly reduced fertiliser, herbicide, insecticide sales etc., and farmer independance, would mean the end of multi-billion agric corporations.
Also, experts need money, so most "experts" also flock where the money is.
Most sincere experts, of course, don't have multi-million PR-departments at their disposal, and lobbying access to politicians and media ...
Even the UN are by far not as powerful as international corporations in this era of the rule of money and might, instead of Truth and Compassion.

It is inconceivable how Ghanaian Representatives could even consider such a permanent self-incapacitation of a sovereign nation.
Passing this Bill would mean, that if a future Ghanaian Government would like to prevent certain GMOs from entering the Ghanaian Market, that the international companies could sue Ghana in international trade-courts for sanctions and penalty-payments and force Ghana to accept the importation of any type of GMOs.
And such in a time when more and more scientific and empirical evidence is surfacing for the consequences of GMO-consumption and -application.
Either these Ghanaian Representatives are utterly naive or brainwashed or submissive or bribed.
