Awulea Amihere is only interested in getting what he want today to the detriment of the future generation. Look at those with the Akosombo Dam issue, after 50 years down the line, compensations have been paid to the people. If the chiefs at that time rose against the project do you think the dam would have been in existence for all to benefit today. Greedy man who is not satisfy with anything

The challenge with the country taking actions such as that undertaken by GNGC is that we are heading towards the unpalatable situation that has happened in the Niger Delta in Nigeria. The Government should not be above the law. If they have taken land without a formal agreement and price agreed then that is clearly wrong. As for the King, is he recognized by the National House of Chiefs? if not then he is a pretender and a fraud

Does it make any sense to acquire somebody land for your project and sell your product to make your profit and waited 50 years after the person is dead to pay compensation. Is that what you think.

How much royalties will be paid by GGC? What will be the payment modalities? If royalties are to be paid upon what lease agreement? The GGC and gov't, for that matter, must, from the get go, avoid situations that later call for payment of judgment debts. One important fact that must not be lost on anybody in the Traditional area is that, the project, notwithstanding its benefits for the entire nation, is not in any going to exempt the landowners from paying electricity bills nor taxes for doing business on their own lands. All the more reason why the Omanhene's stance should not be watered down. These are lands that belong to generations of the families involved. There should be an open and frank talk about compensation for the land as is done in other Traditional Areas in other Regions and Districts of the country. Who are the immediate beneficiaries of the the project? Ghana. Who suffers the the immediate environmental hazards of the project? The people in the project area. Every reasonable Ghanaian should not fault the Omanhene for seeking a court injunction. Let the CEO of GGC, Sipa-Yankey who is a son the Ellembele District, and Gov't be responsible in doing what they know is the right procedure for acquisition of lands for national projects. So far as the story stands they have been grossly irresponsible. People are only trying to demonize the Omanhene for political expediency. This is just pure insanity.
