No. It will separate those who have a serious political manifesto to solve Ghana's desperate, suicidal situation from the smug, filthy rich bastards who have caused it, since Nkrumah's vision was corrupted half a century ago.

Lower fees and you have clowns throwing in their hats to contest not because they think they will win but just to earn the title "flag bearer aspirant" to get recognition in society. Such opportunists should be discouraged. If you believe you are a winable candidate, you will find ways to raise funds. If you can't mobilise funds through a fund raising campaign through corporate sponsorship and well wishers then you have no business going for the presidential slot. If you have to take a loan to pay for filing fees then you are not fit to be a flagbearer let alone a president. No one in his right senses will take a loan to stake lotto.

Where could they possibly have got the money from. Of course from the nation's coffers when they were previously in government.
Let us ask Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng and Nana AKUFO Addo where they are going to get this huge amount of money from.
Ghanaians are always taken as fools by these discredited politicians.
Most of them are THIEVES you know?

When you have aspirants campaigning behind closed doors,it tells you that their giving bribes to the delegates for their votes or perhaps promising them some juicy deals.I don't see why aspirants should go about convincing delegates behind the scenes instead of them to tell the public what they can do for Ghana.By spreading your message of what you can do for Ghana it does not only help the delegates to know your capacity and strategy but it helps the general public also to evaluate different opinions. All what we hear is that Mr X,Y Z wanted to contest the primaries but none of them has seen it as imperative to show how he is going to govern this country if he is elected as president.Majority of them have found the solace in denouncing and criticing the NDC,Mahama and the economy but nobody has come up with any alternative.Mahama is incompetent, that's what we hear everyday but nobody in NPP has shown us how competent he is apart from criticising. It's just a sad situation where NPP wants to win in 2016 but has no single alternative plan.I wonder why they follow Nana,Alan and so on who have not shown any pragmatic approach to solve problems in Ghana such as energy crisis, water, unemployment, housing, taxes, security and the economy at large. If so how would you expect the floating voter to cast his vote for you?Thank you.

Pls folks get it very clear, is the ability to mobilise resources and raise the needed funds that determines the peoples choice presumably. Obama was able to raise more funds than Clintons, who in reality are more richer in terms of personal wealth. So dear aspirants prove that you are capable to sell yourself and even raise more than the £85,000.

But we can learn from US, the best in practice. Obama came from 'no where' and yet was able to marshal resources - can't we learn from that creative idea. Kwame let us be realistic to tackle our problems. What do you suggest how the parties should raise funds? Incumbent abuse of power and mis-use of state funds for political campaign, that's why Gh economy is in crisis now.
